BAILEYTON - Peggy Hawkins, 66, died Wednesday (July 23,2003) at
Johnson City Medical Center.
She attended Zion United Methodist Church and was a housewife.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend and always
would go that extra mile for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Hawkins; and father,
Samuel Joyce.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Hawkins of Baileyton; one son and
daughter-in-law, Calvin and Kim Hawkins of Greeneville; one daughter,
Patricia Scalf of Baileyton; daughter-in-law, Liz Hawkins of Gray;
five grandchildren, Davy Hawkins and wife Michelle of Gray, Nikki
Scalf of Baileyton, Crystal Hawkins of Gray, Gavin Hawkins and Garred
Hawkins, both of Greeneville; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and
Austin Hawkins of Gray; mother, Emma Mitchell of Kingsport; three
sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Ted Collins, Francesand Lynn
Clark and Willa Dean and George Overbay, all of Kingsport; brotherand
sister-in-law, Jimmie and Judy Joyce of Fall Branch; brother-in-law
andsister-in-law, George and Marie Hawkins of Kingsport;
brother-in-law, Mack Nichols of Morristown; several nieces and
nephews; and special friends, BettyBailey, Maxine Hobbs, Ralph and
Phyllis Gallihar and Neola Cooter.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kiser
Funeral Home, Greeneville.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion U.M. Church
with the Rev. Paul Miracle and the Rev. Anthony Payne officiating.
The body willbe taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hayes, Richard Casteel, J. Frank Hobbs,Rob
Bailey, Larry Gross and Terry Sexton.
Honorary pallbearers will be TommySensabaugh, Ralph Gallihar, Terry
Hensley and the Sunday school class #1 ofZion U.M. Church.
