Lives in Kingsport in 1994.
KINGSPORT - Genevia N. Orfield, 62, went to be with the Lord Tuesday
(Sept. 28, 2004) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Kingsport, she had been a resident of Sullivan County all of
her life. Genevia attended Lynn View High School and graduated from
Gate City HighSchool. She served as a teacher's aide in the Sullivan
County School Systemfor many years.
Genevia had served as a den mother for her sons' Cub Scout Unit. She
was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was a member of Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in deathwere her parents, Hobert and Dora Hood; and one
nephew, Mark Hood.
Surviving are her husband, Johnny Orfield, Kingsport; two sons, Shawn
Orfield and wife, Leslie, Blountville, Jackson Orfield, Kingsport; two
grandchildren, DakotaJack Orfield and Kaelob Jackson Orfield; two
step-grandchildren, Natasha Foster and Sydney Foster; three brothers,
Larry Hood and wife, Judy, Billy Hoodand wife, Christine, all of
Church Hill, Johnny Ray Hood and wife, Pam, Kingsport; one uncle,
Henderson Hood, and wife Lois, Kingsport; and several niecesand
nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson
Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Homer Roller and the Rev. Nate Ware officiating.
Entombment services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill
Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
