CLINCHPORT, Va. - Ruby L. Gibson, 85, of Route 3, went to her heavenly
home Sunday (Jan. 11, 2004).
Mrs. Gibson was a lifelong resident of Scott County, Va., and a
homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James"Jimmy" Gibson;
parents, Jessie and Maxie Barnett Gilliam; two brothers, Charlie
Gilliam and J.L. Gilliam.
Left to mourn her passing are a daughter, Thelma and husband Ivan
Jones, Duffield, Va.; three sons, J.R. "Hoot" and wife Judith C.
Gibson, Duffield, Va., Carl and wife Linda Gibson, Duffield, Va.,
Barney and wife Tina Gibson, Statesville, N.C. Mamaw Ruby leaves nine
grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandson;
sister, Margaret and husband Jim Collins, Dayton, Ohio; one special
neighbor and friend, Sue B.Carter; many nieces, nephews, and a host
of friends.
Calling hours are from5 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home in
Weber City, Va., and anytime atthe residence.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. today
with Evangelist Kenneth Neeley and the Rev. Kenny Hammond and Joseph
Jones officiating.
Music will be provided by Lee Smith Singers.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Goode Cemetery
in Clinchport, Va. Family will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to
go in procession to thecemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Sturgill, Billy Joe Sturgill, Roy Roberts,
Dewey Bishop, Amos Rhoton, Pat Hammond, Emmitt Goode, and Buddy
Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Rhoton, Cecil Clendenin, Bill
Stacey, BillyGibson, and Ewing K. Gilliam.

CLINCHPORT, Va. - Jessee L.Gilliam Jr., 66, Route 3, passed away
Wednesday (March 13, 2002) at Norton Community Hospital.
He was born in Scott County, Va., on June 28, 1935 and wasthe son of
the late Jessee Gilliam Sr. and Maxie Barnette Gilliam.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nannie
Gilliam; and a brother, Charlie Gilliam.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Gibson, Clinchport, Va., and Mrs.
Laura Margaret Collins, Dayton, Ohio; niece, Thelma Jean Jones,
Clinchport, Va.; three nephews, J.R. Gibson and Carl Gibson, both of
Clinchport, Va., and Barney Gibson, Statesville, N.C.; and two special
friends,Linda and Judith Gibson.
Calling hours are from 7 to 8 p.m. today at ColonialFuneral Home,
Weber City, Va.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today inthe funeral home chapel
with Brother Kenneth Neeley officiating. Billy Gibson will provide the
music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Good
Cemetery (Good Hollow), Clinchport, Va. The family will meet atthe
funeral home at 10 a.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
