KINGSPORT - Cecil Dare Sarber, 65, of 2980 Ashley Street, went to be
with theLord Saturday (Jan. 13, 2001) at Wellmont Holston Valley
Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Derby, Va., he was a son of the late Steveand Mary Penley
Sarber.
He was Supervisor of Environmental Services for Wellmont Holston
Valley Medical Center.
He attended Friendship Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four
brothers and one sister.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Betsy Lawson Sarber; three
daughters, Tammy Hoffman, Milan, Ind., Penny Barnhorst, Oldenburg,
Ind., Kimberly Brasher, Kingsport; a son, Anthony Sarber, Kingsport;
two sisters, Virginia Rutherford, Roda, Va., and Loretta Carter,
Kingsport; a brother, Steve Sarber, Kingsport; six grandchildren,
Danny Hoffman, Tiffany Hoffman, Kyle Hoffman, Michael Barnhorst,
Amanda Barnhorst, and Marilyn Brasher.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at East Lawn Funeral
Home.
Services will beconducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in East Lawn Memorial
Park with the Rev. JoeHill officiating.
Charles DeWitt Byrd VFW Post No. 3382 will render full military
honors.
Pallbearers will be Connie Walton, Danny Hoffman, Roger Carter,and
Rufus Lawson.

18, 2002) at Rowan Regional MedicalCenter, Salisbury, N.C.
Born in Scott County, Va., on Sept. 9, 1926, she retired in 1990 from
Kemet-Electronics Company, in production where she made capacitores.
She attended Scott County, Va., schools and was of the Baptist faith.
Wanda and Lawrence were married on July 10, 1945.
She was preceded in deathby her parents, William Franklin and Ollie
Mac Pearcy Christian.
Survivingare her husband, Lawrence Edward Taylor; two sons, David
Allen Taylor and Willie Louis Taylor, both of Rockwell, N.C.; four
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronald
Christian, Ralph Christian, Jonnie Christian and Eric Christian, all
of Kingsport; five sisters, Sylvia Day, Jo Davis, Iva Jean Amyx and
Shirley Mowdy, all of Kingsport, and Eva Adams, Greenville, S.C.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Powles Funeral Home
Chapel, Rockwell, N.C., with the Rev. Bill O'Neal, pastor of Calvary
FamilyWorship Center, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. James Lutheran ChurchCemetery.
