EASLEY, S.C. - Eva Jean Christian Adams, 68, of 144 Lathan Street,
died Saturday (May 8, 2004) at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Easley.
A native of Scott County, Va., she was a daughter of the late W.F. and
Ollie Piercy Christian. Mrs. Adams retired from Kernet and attended
Crosswell Apostolic Church.
In addition to her parents, shewas preceded in death by her husband,
Robert E. Adams; two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are her son, Tony W. Adams, of Easley; a daughter, BobbieJ.
Chapin, of Hardwick, Vt.; four brothers, Eric Christian, Ronald
Christian, Johnny Christian and Ralph Christian, all of Kingsport;
four sisters, IvaJean Amyx, Sylvia Day, Shirley Mowdy and Joella
Davis, all of Kingsport; 11grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Westville Memorial Funeral
Home, Greenville, S.C.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, West.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Claude Cardale Roach, 64, Route 4, passed away
Thursday (Dec. 21, 2000) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in Scott County, Va. on July 23, 1936, he was the son of the late
William and Eva Moretz Roach. He retired from Pontiac Motors in
Michigan.
Mr. Roach was a member of Brick Church in Rye Cove.
In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother,
James Roach; mother-in-law, Lina McDavid; niece, Tonya Roach; nephew,
Michael Roach; and a cousin, Nancy Roach.
Mr. Roach was the beloved husband of Janivee McDavid Roach, of the
home; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Newton, Pontiac, Mich.;
sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Renee Roach, Rex and Danielle
Roach, all of Pontiac, Mich.;grandfather of Christina, Dale, Carl,
Nicolis, Joey, Hannah, Hayley, Regina,Felicia and Shannon;
great-grandfather of Alyssa and Jeffrey; sisters, Dorothy Shelton and
Hazel Dixon, both of Kingsport, Maggie Gilliam, Taylor, Mich.,Georgia
Bell, Pontiac, Mich., Maudie Buchler, Clinchport, Va.; brothers,
Robert Roach, Ray Roach, Glenn Roach, Don Roach, Johnny Roach, all of
Clinchport, Va.; father-in-law, Clifton McDavid; several nieces and
nephews.
Callinghours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in thefuneral home chapel
with Evangelist Garry Hood, the Rev. Joe Hill and PastorJerry Hickman
officiating.
The Gospel Four Quartet will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roach
Cemetery in Clinchport, Va. The family will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made tothe family.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Bale.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Janivee McDavid Roach, 58, Route 4, died Tuesday (Oct.
23, 2001) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Scott County on Feb. 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late
Clifton McDavid and Lina Wallen McDavid.She was retired from Schaffer
Greenhouse as a florist and did volunteer workat New Image Beauty
Shop in Weber City, Va. Mrs. Roach was a Baptist and a member of Brick
Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in deathby her husband,
Claude C. Roach (Dec. 12, 2000).
Surviving are her daughterand son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Newton,
Pontiac, Mich.; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Renee Roach,
Waterford, Mich., Rex and Danielle Roach, Pontiac, Mich.;
grandchildren, Christina, Dale, Carl, Nicholis, Joey, Hannah, Hayley,
Regina, Felicia, Shannon; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jeffrey,
Matthew,Marissa; sisters, Beulah Bishop and Anita Jones, both of
Duffield, Va., WandaBishop, Dremia Smith and Charolette Lane, all of
Church Hill; brothers, Gerald McDavid, Bruce McDavid, Vernon McDavid,
and Samuel McDavid, all of Duffield, Va.; and several nieces and
nephews.

Va. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. todayat the funeral home and
anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Clyde Goode, Evangelist Garry Hood, the Rev. Joe Hill
and Pastor Jerry Hickman officiating.
Music will be conducted by Gethsemane Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roach
Cemetery in Clinchport, Va. The family will meet at 1 p.m. at the
funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

DUFFIELD, Va. - Glenn H. Roach, 62, of Route 4, departed this life
Tuesday (Aug. 31, 2004) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Scott County, Va., on March 1, 1942, the son of the
late William and Eva Moretz Roach. He retired from General Motors as
an inspector.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn
M. Roach; two brothers, James Roach and Claude Roach; loving
sister-in-law, Janieve Roach; father-in-law, Ollie Morrison.
Left behind are his loving wife, Mary Roach; loving daughter and
son-in -law, Sheila and Richard Shrider, Highland, Mich.; the pride of
his life, grandsons, Steven and Matthew Shrider, Highland, Mich.,
Glenn M. Roach II, Laughlin, Nev., and the most precious of
granddaughters, Hayley Shrider, Highland, Mich.; sisters, Dorothy
Shelton and son, Alvin Shelton, Kingsport, Maudie Buchler, Clinchport,
Va., Georgia Bell, Pontiac, Mich., Maggie Gilliam, Taylor, Mich.,
Hazel Dixon, Kingsport; brothers, Robert Roach, Ray Roach, Johnny

in procession to the cemetery.

8993. Georgia Bishop

KINGSPORT - Georgia Roberts, 83, passed away Wednesday morning (Jan.
12, 2005) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
A native of Scott County, Va., she was thedaughter of the late
William Robert and Maggie Roach Bishop. She retired asa receptionist
from Wholesale Electric of Kingsport and was of the Methodistfaith.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Hawkins; and
her second husband, Aaron Roberts, who passed away in March of 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Armstrong of Kingsport; three
grandchildren, MelindaSalyer of Hiltons, Va., Elizabeth Armstrong of
Johnson City, and Robert Armstrong of Kingsport.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.
The graveside committal service will take place at 11 a.m. today at
the Oak Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Cavin officiating.
Memorial contributions may besent to the VFW Post #14, Color Guard,
16th St., Bristol, Tenn. 37620 attn: Ed Barker.
Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home of Weber City, Va., is serving

Aaron Amos Roberts

KINGSPORT - Aaron Amos Roberts, 80, of Kingsport, passed away on
Saturday (March 20, 2004).
Mr. Roberts was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine
Corps. He served with the 4th Marine Division during the Battle of Iwo
Jima. He received the Purple Heart and many other citations during his
timewith the Marine Corps. He was a long-standing member of the VFW.
He retired from the Ratheon Manufacturing Company.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia Roberts; three sons, Alex Roberts of
Columbia, S.C., a 20-year military veteran, Randy Roberts and wife
Kelly of Broadway, Va., and Jack Tate and wife Lee of Kingsport; a
daughter, Sue Armstrong of Kingsport; nine grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted and Fred Roberts of Bristol;
and a specialniece, Phyllis Fultz of Bristol.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3p.m. today at Oak Hill
Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow immediately in the Oak Hill Memorial
Park with Pastor Jerry Hickman officiating. Military honors will be
performed by the VFW Post #3382 Color Guard.
The staff of Oak Hill Funeral Home is serving the Roberts family.
