WISE, Va. - Virginia Arzella Layne Stallard, 60, passed away Tuesday
(Oct. 1, 2002) at her home in Wise.
She was a member of the House of Prayer Church.
She was precededin death by one son, Roger K. Stallard; mother,
Arminda Layne Boggs; father,James Layne; stepfather, Woodrow Boggs;
and two brothers, Foster Layne and Donald Layne.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Willie Ray Stallard; three
daughters, Patricia Stallard and Katherine Skidmore, both of Wise, and
Regina Yeary of Big Stone Gap, Va.; four sons, Billy Stallard, Harold
Stallard, Bobby Stallard and Donald Stallard, all of Wise; two
sisters, Evelina Rose ofNorton, Va., and Becky Stanley of Pound, Va.;
three brothers, James Layne ofClintwood, Va., Author Layne of
Nickelsville, Va., and Darrell Layne of Wise;13 grandchildren and one
great-grandson.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m.today at Sturgill Funeral Home,
Wise, Va.
Services will be conducted at 11a.m. Friday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Gerald Osborne and the Rev. Vernon Rose
officiating.
Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone
Gap, Va.

NORTON, Va. - Bonnie Sue Stallard Mullins, 45, passed away Tuesday
(Oct. 22, 2002) at St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, Va.
Shewas a former employee of St. Mary's Hospital, Norton, as a nurse's
aide, andwas of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Mullins; her
parents, Johnny and Hester Crabtree Stallard; and three brothers,
Bobby Stallard, Luther Stallard and John Stallard.
Surviving are one son, Daniel Stanley of Wise, Va.; one daughter,
Majesta Stanley Bateman and husband Richard of Wise, Va.; three
brothers, Kyle Stallard and Willie Stallard,both of Wise, Va., and
John Stallard of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sisters, Marsha Stallard of
Grundy, Va., Betty Osborne of Wise, Va., and Choloe Salyers of
Manassas, Va.; and one granddaughter, Asia Lachelle Bateman.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Mullins
Cemetery, Wise, Va., withPastor Chris Stanfield officiating.
There will be visitation at the funeral home.
Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
