WISE, Va. John Herbert Carter, 57, passed away Saturday (Nov. 6, 1999)
in theSt. Marys Hospital in Norton, Va.
He was a former employee of Marco Mining Company and of the Freewill
Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda Stanley Carter; a son, Shawn Carter,
Wise, Va.; three daughters, Trena Hamilton,Chanda Archer and Shona
Carter, all of Wise, Va.; a brother, Harvey Pinkney Carter, Wise, Va.;
four sisters, Monette Mefford, Mary Jane Fultz, Jalie Cox and Joan
Proffitt, all of Wise, Va.; seven grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Sturgill Funeral Home
in Wise, Va.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeralhome
chapel with the Rev. Gerald Osborne officiating.
Burial will follow inthe Addington-Hensley Cemetery in Wise, Va.
