BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Clyde Wilson Boardwine, 73, died Thursday (Aug.
8, 2002)at the Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.
Mr. Boardwine had lived in Big Stone Gap for the past 31 years and he
owned and operated Boardwine Body Shopfor several years there. He was
also employed by Appalachia Convenience Center of Wise County.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a member
of Ayers Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlesand Clara Boardwine;
two sisters, Thelma Fritts and Nell Meadows.
Survivorsinclude his wife, Patty Boardwine of the home; son, Scott
Boardwine, Big Stone Gap; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Patrick
Arnold, Big Stone Gap; one grandchild, Shelley Arnold; brother, Giles
Boardwine, Troutville, Va.
Callinghours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Gilliam Funeral Home,
Big Stone Gap.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with
BrotherPaul Strong officiating.
Graveside services will be held Monday at Powell Valley Memorial
Gardens in Big Stone Gap with the Rev. Ronnie Mutter officiating.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Norton VFW Post No.
4301and Wise DAV Chapter No. 56.
Family and friends are asked to assemble at thefuneral home at 10:30
Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

18939. Billy Joe Jr Begley
Born with an open spine. Has never been able to walk.
KINGSPORT - Billy Joe Begley Jr., 32, went to be with Jesus Monday
(July 28, 2003).
Billy Joe Begley was born in Kingsport and was a member of Reedy Creek
Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Begley and Bob
Eades; anda special uncle, Harold Bishop.
Joe was a very happy and special person and always had a smile. He was
a miracle child for so many years.
Surviving are his devoted mother, Kathy Begley of Kingsport; father,
Billy Begley and wife Mable, Kingsport; his loving brother, Bobby Jack
Begley, Kingsport; stepsister, Cynthia Estep; stepbrother, Brian
Estep; grandmothers, Mary Begley and Madeline Eades, both of
Kingsport; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins; and a
special friend, Billy Houser.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Friends and family may visit anytime at the home.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Gary Calhoun officiating.
Music will be provided by the Rev. Jack Begley and wife.
