KINGSPORT - Don Lee Baldwin, 69, of Kingsport, died Monday (May 31,
2004) after a long illness at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Hewas preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Baldwin; his
parents, Rev. Kenner W. and Vollie McClellan Baldwin; and a brother,
Gene Baldwin.
Survivors include his wife, Lida Donihe Baldwin; son, Don Lee Baldwin
Jr.; daughter,Anita Baldwin Moen; one granddaughter, Caitlin Moen;
three grandsons, Kevin Baldwin, Eric Baldwin, and Conner Moen;
brother, Randall Baldwin; sister, RebaBaldwin Stallard; and several
nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn
Memorial Park with the Rev. J. Spurgeon McCartt officiating.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, downtown Kingsport,is serving the
Baldwin family.

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. - Joe ThomasWood, son of the late Charles and
Elsie Wood of Hiltons, Va., died Monday (Sept. 27, 2004) at his home
in Liberty Lake, Wash.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, which he joined in his teens.
After retiring from the military,he went to work for American
Airlines and other private airlines until he retired to Washington
where he loved to play golf.
Surviving are his wife, Sally; and three sons, Shea, Shawn and Joe
Jason. He will be missed by his remaining siblings, June Prusha,
Phoenix, Ariz., Yvonne Pruett, Jim Wood, Steve Wood of Kingsport, John
Wood, Jonesborough, Nancy Greear, Gate City, Va., and Deborah Harrell,
Atlanta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul;and sister, Shirley.
Memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday (Oct.10, 2004) at
Nottingham Methodist Church, Hilton Road, with the Rev. Bill Porter
officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following theservice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Nottingham
Methodist Church, Box 479N, Gate City, VA 24251.

He began in the landscaping business and formed one of SW Va's largest
surface mining operations. He retired in 1966 at the age of 44 and
divided his timebetween business interests and volunteer activities
in Wise, Va, and Naples,Fla. Member, Board of Visitors, Emory & Henry
College; Manager of Properties, Wesley Foundation Student Center,
Clinch Valley College.
