KINGSPORT - Monday morning [30 Sep 2002] Zola Mae Jennings Morelock
went home to be with the Lord.
She was born Nov. 10, 1933 and she was born-again Oct. 12, 1982. She
was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Kingsport.
Mrs. Morelock was a nurse for 30 years and worked at the Indian Path
Hospital for 10 years. She also did private duty work and she loved
and cared for her patients. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and the
church and attended it faithfully, when sickness did not hinder. She
loved her children and dedicatedher life to please them. She truly
brooded over each one. She had many friends who appreciated her talent
to care for others. Our mother will be greatly missed and yet we know
we shall see her again.
Mom was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Elizabeth Gulley; her
father, Hanzle Jennings; two brothers, Frank Jennings and Jason
Jennings; two sons, the Rev. Terry Lee Morelock and Gary Alan
Morelock; one grandson, Chad Alan Morelock; and the father of her
children, Elmo Morelock.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Way and husband Dennis, Church
Hill; sons, Rick Morelock and wife Debbie, Ernie Morelock and wife
Cathy, Larry Morelock and wife Cindy, all of Kingsport; a sister,
Margaret and her husband, Troy Helton, Woodbridge, Va.; brothers,
Earnest and his wife, Emiline Jennings, and "Red" Jennings, Kingsport;
her grandchildren, Jessica Way, Tiffany and Chad Morelock, Dustin and
Preston Morelock, Christy Arnold and Staci Wilmoth, Greg Morelock and
Brandy Sturgill, Susie Morelock, Jennifer Dockery, Marisa O'Neal,
Kimberly Layell; Chad Morelock in heaven; her great-grandchildren,
Garrett Morelock, Chase and Christian Arnold, Christen Sturgill,
Bailee Dockery, Alex and Emily O'Neal.
Calling hours are from5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Victory Baptist
Church, 1932 Fairview Ave., Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with
PastorLarry Morelock officiating.
Singing will be by the Victory Baptist Church Choir.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn
Memorial Park.

KINGSPORT - Rev. Linda Sue Guy (Patrick) Jennings, 56, 853 Rock City
Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at Indian
Path Medical Center in Kingsport.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a homemaker. She
attended the Rock City Holiness Mission.
She was preceded in death byher parents, Leonard Guy and Lula Belle
Guy; an infant son; her first husband, Rev. Charles Hubbard Patrick;
her brother, George Guy; and her stepdaughter, Rhonda Jean Jennings.
Surviving are her loving husband, Robert Hansel Jennings; three
daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Gray, Kingsport, Mrs. James (Patsy)
Hobbs, Midlothian, Texas, and Mrs. Carl (Carolyn) Smith, Blountville;
twosons, George Patrick and Gordon Patrick, both of Kingsport; four
stepsons, Steven Patrick, Billy Joe Jennings, Randy Dewayne Jennings
and Robert JenningsJr., all of Kingsport; stepdaughter, Mrs. Al
(Angela) Conkin, Kingsport; twobrothers, the Rev. Luther Guy and
Larry Guy, Kingsport; 10 grandchildren; 13stepgrandchildren; three
stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Clarence Necessary and the Rev. Buddy Edwards
officiating.
Music will be provided by James Field and Maybelle Necessary. Family
and friends will gather in the funeral home at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow the service in Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Weber
City, Va.

KINGSPORT - Phyllis Ann Cox, 57, went to be with the Lord suddenly on
Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Her love was thecare of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma LeeShort; one sister
and one brother.
Surviving are her two daughters, Paula Weldon of Rogersville and
Kimberly Gillenwater of Kingsport; two sons, David Cox of Kingsport
and Randell Cox of Church Hill; 10 grandchildren, Michael PaulParker,
Matthew Parker, Jacob Weldon, Ashley Marie Cox, Joshua Cox, Austin
Cox, Autumn Cox, Tyler Gillenwater, Sarah Gillenwater and Tara
Gillenwater;and two great-grandchildren, Emily Parker and Marco
Barbusca; two sisters, Carolyn Dunn of Jonesborough and Patty Baird of
Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Johnny Short and Charles Lee Gentry, both
of Kingsport.
