KINGSPORT - Tommy Wayne Vance, 62, went to be with the Lord Monday
(July 15,2002).
Mr. Vance was born in Sullivan County and was a resident of Kingsport
all of his life. He was retired from Eastman. He enjoyed gardening and
all sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Vance; and his son,
Marty Wayne Vance.
Survivors include his son, Joel Vance and wife Sherry of Talbott;
three daughters, Tondrea Vance of Knoxville, Tamra Vance Robinson and
husband Steve of Kingsport, Tanya Vance of Gray; mother, Colleen Vance
of Wexford House, Kingsport; sister, Sharon Vance Starnes and husband
Tom of Radford, Va.; brother, Steve Vance and wife Neta of Kingsport;
and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 12:30 to 3 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral
Home. The family will also be receiving friends at the Vance
residence,325 Norma Dr., Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with Pastor Joe W. Byrd officiating.
Graveside services will follow.
Pallbearers will be Bill McDaniel, Chuck Arnold, Don Murphy, Charlie
Defreeze, Bob Harrison and Gary Defreeze.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rauls Bradford, John Ferbroche, Cecil
McGuire, Jeff Jones and Larry Harrison.

JOHNSON CITY - Evelyn Louise Reed McDavid, 82, went to be with the
Lord suddenly Monday (May 31, 2004) at Appalachian Christian Village.
She was born in Gate City, Va. Her passion was cooking for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith S. McDavid;parents,
Carson Reed and Mollie Dale Sampson Reed; daughter, Judy McDavid Cole;
and brother, Charles Reed.
Surviving are her son, Rick McDavid, MD and wife Pam, Johnson City;
five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen
Starnes and Phyllis Culbertson; brothers, Raymond Reed, Jimmy Reed,
Ralph Reed, Carl Reed, Billy Reed and Larry Reed.

Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.

GATE CITY, Va. - Keith McDavid, 81, of 202 Darter Street, died
Wednesday afternoon (April 11, 2001) at Wellmont Holston Valley
Medical Center.
Born in Scott County, Va. (Speers Ferry), he was a veteran of the U.S.
Navy during World War II and a member of the American Legion Hammond
Post No. 3. He was retired from Eastman after over 42 years of
service.
He was preceded in death byan infant son; his parents, Ray McDavid
and Nannie Templeton McDavid; one brother, Raymond McDavid.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Reed McDavid, of the home; one daughter
and son-in-law, Judy McDavid Cole and husband, Ronald, Gate City, Va.;
one son and daughter-in-law, Rick McDavid and wife, Pam, Gray; five
grandchildren, Melissa Carico, Angela Quillen, Michele McDavid, Janeeu
McDavid and Ashley McDavid; three great-grandchildren; a foster son,
Larry Reed,Knoxville; his foster parents, Uncle Hugh and Aunt Dale
McDavid, Scott County, Va.

downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Craig Culbertson officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill
Cemetery with American Legion Hammond Post No. 3 in charge of
graveside services.
