19508. Diana Rhea Dennison

KINGSPORT _ Diana Rhea Dennison Carter, 728 Rock Springs Drive, passed
away Saturday (June 3, 2000) at Bristol Regional Medical Center, after
an extendedillness.
She was born in Kingsport and lived most of her life here, and
graduated from Lynn View High School.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack A. Dennison, (1995).
Surviving are her husband, Earl Wayne Carter, Kingsport; mother,
Evelyn Stokes Dennison, Weber City;step-sons, Harold (Butch) Carter,
Limestone, Tenn., John Carter, Nantucket, R.I.; sister, Gena Gilley,
Kingsport; brother, Sammy Dennison, Kingsport; several nieces and
nephews; 26 foster children.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Scott County Funeral
Home and anytime at the residence and also at the home of her mother,
Evelyn Dennison. A graveside service will be at11 a.m. Tuesday in
Holston View Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Blessing officiating.
Pallbearers will be Rick Carter, Chad Carter, Skip Carter, Bobby
Dennison, David Dennison and Jack Gilliam.
Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Condry

12271. Barbara Jean Smith

Lived in Kingsport in 2002.
KINGSPORT - Barbara Jean Smith Tipton, 71, went tobe with the Lord
(April 8, 2004) at Indian Path Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County, Va. (Gate City), but lived in Michigan
until 1945 at whichtime she moved to Kingsport, where she lived until
she moved to Louisiana, then Florida and returned to Kingsport in
1988.
Barbara was employed as an accountant for over 35 years and retired
from Hanes and Associates Accounting Firm due to ill health.
She was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Tipton; parents, W.O.
Smith and Lelia Victoria Myers Smith.
Surviving are her daughter, Lee Ann Tipton McCraw andJohnny Sims,
Kingsport; son, Gary Lynn Tipton and wife Beulah, Kingsport; sisters,
Betty Stallard Schrock and husband Arnie, Mount Carmel and Sue Ramey,
Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Ethel Moffitt, Kingsport, and Bea Ryder,
Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Bobby Tipton, Kimberlie Ann Tipton,
Stephanie McCraw, Timothy McCraw, Randy Patrick, Teresa Wallen and
Wayne Patrick; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Callinghours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Carter-Trent Funeral
Home, downtownKingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the
residence, 2300 Portland Ave., or the home of her daughter.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday inthe funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Guy Tilley, the Rev. Jim Powell and the Rev.
Marvin Winkle officiating.
Burial will follow in Tri-City Memory Gardens, Blountville.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Ramey, Tim McCraw, Bobby Tipton, Mark
Stallard, Barry Stallard, John Jennings, Greg Jennings and Scott
Ramey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905.


Jack H. Tipton

Lived in Kingsport in 1991.
KINGSPORT - Jack H. Tipton, 70, died early Thursday morning (Nov. 21,
2002) at James H. Quillen Medical Center.
Born in Sullivan County (Kingpsort), he spent his early life in this
area. He entered the service in 1949 serving in the 82nd Airborne
Division stationed in Ft. Benning, Ga. He returned to Kingsport from
Florida in 1988.
He was employed in machine shop and as a welder, having been employed
as a welder offshore oil rig in New Orleans, La.
He attended Orebank Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch Ingle Tipton and Roxie
Ann Fletcher Tipton;one brother and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Ms. Lee Ann McCraw, Kingsport; one son,
Gary Lynn Tipton and wife Beulah of Kingsport; mother of his children,
Barbara Jean Smith Tipton of Kingsport; grandchildren, Robert Tipton,
Kimberly Ann Bennett, Stephanie McCraw and Timothy McCraw; four
great-grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Ethel Moffitt of Kingsport and Mrs. Beatrice Ryder of Pensacola, Fla.;
two special nephews,John Jennings of Atlanta, Ga., and Greg Jennings
of Kingsport; several othernieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
downtown Kingsport. Friends may call anytime at 333 Lucy Road or2300
Portland St., Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 pm. today inthe funeral home chapel
with the Rev. Marvin Winkle, the Rev. Guy Tiller officiating.
Music will be provided by the Gospel Aires.
Graveside services willbe conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-City
Memorial Gardens with American Legion Hammond Post #3 in charge of
graveside services with Joe W. Byrd Chaplain.
Pallbearers will be Tim McCraw, Bobby Tipton, Jeff Ramey, Mark
Stallard,Barry Stallard, Jesse Ball, Daniel Steele and Tim Clevenger.
