12625. Stephen Compton McClellan
KINGSPORT - Stephen Compton (Swampy) McClellan, 53, died late Sunday
evening(Jan. 2, 2005) at his residence with his family by his side
after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Kingsport, he was a son of Shirley Compton McClellan and the
late James Edward McClellan. He was an ASE certified auto mechanic and
had worked at several local auto repair facilities. He was
self-employed at the time of his death.
Surviving are his mother, Shirley McClellan ofKingsport; children,
Melanie McClellan Rhea of Elizabethton and Melissa McClellan of
Johnson City; brothers, Tony McClellan of Blackwater, Va., Charles and
wife, Rose McClellan of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren, Brandon Rhea,
Allison Pierce and Sierra Pierce; brother-at-heart, Benny Lowe;
special cousin, Johnny Ray Castle; several nieces and nephews; many
special friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Delta Conklin and
Eleanor Grahamof Adventa Hospice for their wonderful care and support
during Steve's illness.
Calling hours are from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Baptist Church,
2601 E. Center St., Kingsport, with an informal eulogy service at 8
p.m. In keeping with Steve's wishes, casual attire is requested.
Committal will be private.
