Glen Edward Sanders

Lived at Gate City in 1993, 97, 2000.
GATE CITY, Va. - Glen E. Sanders, 70, entered into rest with the Lord
Saturday (May 31, 2003) at his residence.
Bornon August 20, 1932 in Scott County, Va., he was the son of the
late Kinley H. and Hannah Sanders. He was a loving husband, father and
grandfather.
He served his country as a Marine during the Korean War. He retired
from TennesseeEastman Company and was an active member of the
Republican Party of Scott County, the American Legion, the Virginia
Coalfield Economical Development Authority, and was chairman of Scott
County Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Helen J. Sanders of Gate City; sons,
Edwin, Patrick and Perry Sanders of Gate City; daughters, Sherry Oaks
and husband Mike of Church Hill, and Beth Blair and husband Gary of
Bristol, Va.; stepson, Jeffery Falin and wife Audra of Nickelsville,
Va.; stepdaughter, Tammy Fisher andhusband Don of Kingsport;
grandchildren, Michelle Roach Taylor, Becky Oaks,Kim Oaks and Carrie
Oaks; stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Myers, Aaron Myers, Matthew Myers
and Tucker Falin; great-grandson, Austin Taylor; sister, Peggy Mann
and husband Jimmy; niece, Nancy Bray and husband Jim; nephew, Kenneth
Mann and wife Linda; great-nieces, Jessie and Jaime Bray.
Calling hours are from6 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va., and any time at the family home in Gate City.
Services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David
Luster officiating.
Music will be by the Working Toward the Promise Singers and
granddaughter, Carrie Oaks.
Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Davidson
Family Cemetery, Starnes Bluff,Va. Family and friends are asked to be
at the funeral home at 11 a.m. to process to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.


Marion C. Larkins

He lived at Mt Carmel, TN, and had lived in Sullivan Co and Hawkins
Co, TN. He retired from AFG Ind and was a truck driver with Central
Truck Lines. He died of injuries from an automobile accident. 6 g-ch,
10 st-g-ch, 2 g-g-ch. Preceded in death by first wife; 1 sis, Martha
Blizzard; 1 bro, Carl Larkins. Surv by 1 dau, Roberta Karen Larkins,
Kpt; 3 st-dau, Mrs Dan (Karen) Ellingtonand Mrs Mike (Sherry) Oaks,
Kpt, and Beth Blair, Hiltons, Va; 2 sons, MarionTim Larkins and John
M. Larkins, Kpt; 3 st-sons, Brian Hixon, Kpt, Edwin Sanders and Perry
Sanders, Gate City; 1 sis, Louise Davidson, Mt Carmel; 2 bros,William
