(Feb. 9, 2000) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after an
extended illness.Born in Scott County, Va., she had resided in
Kingsport most of her life. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker.She was a member
of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church, a 53-year member of the Womens
Auxiliary of theVFW No. 3382 with over 2,500 hours of volunteer work
at VA Mountain Home, M.O.C.A. to Post No. 3382 and a 35-year member of
Women of the Moose.Her parents, Robert F. and Lula Quillen and a
half-sister, Ruby Quillen preceded her indeath.Surviving are her
husband, Worley Lane, of the home; a daughter, Vera Lane Neeley,
Kingsport; a son, Val R. Lane, Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren;seven
great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Lorene Gibbs, Pasadena, Texas; a
brother, John Perry Quillen, Duluth, Minn.; several nieces and
nephews.Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson
Funeral Home, downtown.Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in
the funeral home chapel withEd Clevinger, minister,
officiating.Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Family and friends
will serve as pallbearers.
