13042. Nancy Louise Williams

GATE CITY, Va. - Mrs. Nancy Louise Williams Dougherty, 74, entered
into rest Thursday (April 3, 2003) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical
Center.
Mrs. Dougherty was born in Rhoda, Va. on Oct. 15, 1928, daughter of
the late Harlan and Verla James Williams.
She was a 50-year memberof the Gate City United Methodist Church,
where she belonged to the Taylor Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Dougherty, Gate City, Va.; son
and daughter-in-law, Allen and Debra Dougherty, Gate City, Va.;
granddaughters, Lisa Dougherty and Sara Beth Dougherty; and special
aunts,Ruth Stallard, Nickelsville, Va., and Velma Williams, Gate
City, Va.
Callinghours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Gate City Funeral Home
and other times at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial
Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating.
Pat Quillen will provide the music.
Graveside services will be conducted at11 a.m. Monday at Holston View
Cemetery, Weber City, Va. The family will bemeeting at the funeral
home at 10:15 a.m., Monday to go in procession to thegraveside
service.
Wayne Hammonds, Tim Dougherty, Ronald Faust, John Stallard, Bill
Stallard, Jim Stallard and Dan Waldo will serve as pallbearers.
Olinthus Quillen, Jim Thornton, Harry Fry, Jay Vermillion, Eddie
Richmond, BryanHilbert, Harry Penley, Tom Hilton, Bill Draper, Dan
Culbertson, Lawrence Baker, Stan Bateman, Johnny Miller and Bucky
Clabaugh will serve as honorary pallbearers.

13050. Charles William "Chuck" Barton

He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, TN, and retired from Sun
Chemical Corp at Quebecor Printing in 1994. He was a graduate of
Dobyns-Bennett HS and served in the US Army in the Korean War. He was
a Sunday School teacher and choir member at Oak Grove Bap Ch. 1 g-dau,
1 g-son (named). Preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Barton, and
survived by a sister, Bobbie Barton Russell of Clinton, TN, 2 neph and
1 niece. (from his obituary)

Joseph Rowan "Joe" Russell

CLINTON - Joseph Rowan uuJoeuu Russell, 69, formerly of Oak Ridge,
died at the Methodist Medical Center Saturday (Aug. 26, 2000).
Born Nov. 21, 1930 in Rogersville to James Dewey Russell and Velma
Tunnell Russell, he came to Oak Ridge in 1957 from Kingsport to work
at the ORGDF, later transferring to ORNL. He was involved in the
Crystal Growth, co-authoring several papers.
In 1971,he transferred to Erwin and Springfield, N.Y., to work for
the Nuclear Fuel Services Inc. He came back to Oak Ridge in 1973 to
work with the Department ofEnergy as a general engineer, retiring in
1996.
He was an elder of Faith Promise Church, Oak Ridge and in 1955 was
ordained as a deacon, serving in thatcapacity at nine different
churches.
He was a veteran of The U.S. Air Force, very proud of being a tail
gunner on a B-36.
He was an avid reader of theBible and Christian books and loved
gardening and sports.
Surviving are hiswife, Bobbie Barton Russell, Clinton; a son, Jim
Russell and wife, Lorie, OakRidge; a daughter, Terri Gruenewald and
husband, Bill, Hendersonville, Tenn.; a brother, Don Russell and wife,
Helen, Oak Ridge; sisters, Margaret Padgett and husband, Sam,
Greeneville, Edith Overbey and husband, David, Kingsport;
grandchildren, Faith Russell and William Gruenewald; nieces and
nephews, Russell Overbey, Knoxville, Douglas Overbey, Maryville,
Margaret Jane Seaton,Greeneville, and Samantha Bruce, Jonesborough;
and three great nieces.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Faith Promise Church, Oak
Ridge Mall Conference Center.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today at the church conference
center with the Rev. Chris Stephens and the Rev. Charles Noss
officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge
Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the building fund of Faith Promise
Church, 333 Main St., Suite 218, Oak Ridge, Tenn. 37830.
Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, is in charge of the arrangements.
