KINGSPORT - J. Wayne Hamilton, 64, died Saturday morning (July 21,
2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center of an apparent heartattack.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Kingsport where he had lived his entire life.
He was a former juvenile court judge, and the founding president of
Oak Hill Funeral Home.
He had been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1957.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a past president and board
member of the Kingsport Boys Club.
He was a member of the Kingsport Masonic Lodge#688, member of the
Scottish Rite KCCH, and the York Rite Body of Kingsport.He was a
charter member of the Jericho Shrine Temple and Jesters.
He was amember of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam L. and Estelle Williams
Hamilton; and first wife Nancy Hamilton.
Surviving are his wife Naomi Vaughn Hamilton; daughter, Angela (Mrs.
Pat) Armetta of Birmingham, Ala.; sons, Joseph W. Hamilton Jr., and
wife Donna of Kingsport, andMike Neal and wife Missie of Dayton,
Tenn.; grandchildren, Luke Armetta, Silas Armetta, Michael Neal, and
Kara Buckner; great grandchildren, Jonathan David Lovelace and Lucas
Ryan.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with Dr. Phil Hoskins and Dr. Ron Davis officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Mausoleum.
