BLOUNTVILLE - Jake I. Aquino, 11, 267 Sugar Tree Drive, went to be
with his Jesus early Sunday morning (Nov. 18, 2001) after a lengthy
illness.
He was born in Charleston, S.C., and had been a resident of the
Kingsport area for thelast nine years. He attended Parkers Chapel
Freewill Baptist Church and Indian Springs Elementary School.
He was a caring child and a living inspiration to all who knew him,
and was not afraid to tell others about Jesus. His smileand testimony
will live in our hearts and to all who knew him.
Surviving arehis parents, Penny and Jose Aquino Jr.; maternal
grandparents, Lennis and Phyllis France, Kingsport, James and Sandy
Lane, Hiltons, Va.; paternal grandparents, Violet Cabalar and Jose
Aquino Sr., Hawaii; maternal great-grandmotherand husband, D.B. and
Faye Long, Kingsport; maternal great-grandfathers andwife, William C.
and Effie Lane, Hiltons, Va., Orbin C. Lane, Gate City, Va.;maternal
great-great-grandmother, Kate Lane, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; three
brothers, Nathaniel "Nathan", Joseph and Gabriel, all of the home;
godfather, Anthony Dickens, Kingsport; and several aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Parkers Chapel Freewill
Baptist Church with the Rev. Lennis France and the Rev. Gary Calhoun
officiating.
Burial willfollow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Dickens, DavidParker, Mathew Thomas, Greg
Wallace, Ralph "Buddy" Dingus and Trevor Cole.
East Lawn Funeral Home is serving the Aquino family.
21079. Infant Son Swanenburg
I don't know if he would have been healthy if he had lived. He had so
many things wrong. My daughter really urged them to try to save him
and I think theydid it for her out of her dedication to him. He lived
7 months and most of that time was in ICU. (from Fred Lane, 6/2001)
