WEBER CITY, Va. - John Roy Gilbert, 30, passed away Saturday (June 21,
2003).
Mr. Gilbert was born inPickaway County, Ohio. He was self-employed as
a carpenter and was a memberof Peters Chapel Baptist Church in Ft.
Blackmore, Va.
Mr. Gilbert had a freeloving spirit and was greatly loved by all who
knew him. He will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Haney.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Lane Gilbert, Fall Branch; three
daughters, Laura MaKayla Gilbert and Ashley Carol Gilbert, both of
Fall Branch, Victoria S. Gilbert, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; parents, Roy and
Carol Gilbert, Weber City, Va.; five sisters, Connie Bradley,
McArthur, Ohio, Yvonne Atherton, Mount Carmel, Mary Murphy, Kingsport,
Janey Holt, Yuma, Va., Cathy Lane, Kingsport; two brothers, Lonny
Mansperger, Londonderry, Ohio, Larry Gilbert, Church Hill; many nieces
and nephews; special aunts and uncles.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. todayat Colonial Funeral Home in
Weber City, Va.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m.
Wednesday with Pastor Greg DePriest officiating.
Burial will be at Holston View Cemetery following the services.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
