GATE CITY, Va. - Thomas "Jimmy" Rhoton, 61,entered into rest Sunday
(March 28, 2004).
He was born Aug. 14, 1942 in Scott County, Va., to the late Lee Andy
Rhoton and Martha Lizzie Bishop Rhoton.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters,
Brenda Rhoton, Olene Darnell and Nancy Lane; one brother, Oscar
Rhoton.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Marie, Gate City, Va.; daughter and
son-in-law, Judy and Carl Moles, Church Hill; three stepdaughters and
son-in-law, Eunice and JohnnyGilliam, Gate City, Va., Carolyn Burke
Duncan, Gate City, Va., and Melinda Burke, Mount Carmel; son and
daughter-in-law, Tony and Donna Rhoton, Kingsport; two stepsons and
daughters-in-law, Ross and Dawn Burke, Rogersville, and Keith and
Jamie Burke, Church Hill; one sister, Linda Rhoton, Gate City, Va.;
grandchildren, Melissa Quillen, Kellie Rhoton, Cody Rhoton, Breonna
Moles, Sammy Wells, Tabitha Elliott; stepgrandchildren, John Michael
Gilliam and wife, Amy, Gate City, Va., Jamie Gilliam Qualls and
husband, Richard, Gate City,Va., Derek and Bryan Burke; one
great-grandson, Sage Quillen; a special nephew, Anthony Rhoton;
brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lucille Bishop, Gate City, Va;
sister-in-law, Wanda Rhoton, Church Hill; several nieces and nephews;
and the family dog, King.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gate City Funeral Home
and other times at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Gene Falin
Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Hill
officiating.
Music will be provided by the Mabe Quartet.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Rollins
Family Cemetery, Rye Cove, Va. Family and friends will meet at 12 p.m.
at thefuneral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
