GATE CITY, Va. _ Hiram Kelly Herron, 64, of Route 1, passed away
Tuesday (May30, 2000) at his residence.
Born in Scott County, Va., on Dec. 26, 1935, he was the son of the
late Kelly and Martha Sword Herron.
He was retired from Eastman Kodak Company and a veteran of the U.S.
Army. He was a former member ofthe Gate City Masonic Lodge and the
Eastern Star.
Mr. Herron was of the Baptist faith.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother
and sister; one sister, Marie Flinchum; special aunt, Stella ''Tedo''
Herron Bellamy.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Jean Christian Herron, of the home;
daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Larry Huff, Tammy and Ronnie
Tipton,both of Gate City, Judith Herron, Shelbyville, Ind.; sons and
daughters-in-law, Tommy and Tammy Herron, Gate City, Gary Herron,
Nashville; special grandchildren, Tara Jones, Amy Hillman, Jamie
Burke, Brandon Tipton, Tyler Herron and Tanner Herron;
step-grandchildren, Tim Huff and Larry Curtis Huff;
great-grandchildren, Blake Hillman, Haley Burke, Mekayla Richardson;
brothers, Ernest ''Pete'' Herron, William ''Bill'' Herron, Joe Herron,
all of Gate City; special nieces, Beth Stamey and Lynn Mitchell;
several nieces and nephews.
Music will be provided by the Harbour Lights and Kim Mottinger.
Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at the
Stella Bellamy MemorialGarden, Route 1, Gate City, with military
rites conducted by Charles DeWittByrd VFW Post No. 3382.
Pallbearers will be Jim Nuckles, Jim Williams, Jimmy Keith, Lofton
Marshall Jr., Jack Bush, Ronald Gillenwater, Don Hammonds, and Kurt
Stevenson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Miller, Rex Miller Jr., Russell
Miller, Buford Ervin, Dan Culbertson and Gerald Walters.
The family willbe meeting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go in
procession to the cemetery.
