Ray Walter Massengill

KINGSPORT Ray Walter Massengill, 83, 516 Massengill Drive, died
Monday (July23, 2001) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in
Kingsport.
He was born in Scott County, Va. (Clinchport) and moved to the
Kingsport area in 1941.He was a butcher at Bridwell Packing Co. for
years and was retired as a butcher from Roadside Market after over 20
years of service.
He attended Bible Way Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee W. and Susan Marida Tate
Massengill; three sisters, Faye Sloan, Alpha Falin and Mary Anderson;
and one brother, Charlie Massengill.
MassengillSurviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Frances Hutchins
Massengill; daughter, Ms. Linda Wayne Massengill Couch, Kingsport;
son, Charles Clyde Massengill, Kingsport; granddaughter, Cassandra
Massengill; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home,
Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
with the Rev. R.J. Osborneofficiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn
Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jack O. Church, Thomas I. Hutchins, David Haynes
Sr., David L. Haynes Jr., Chris Chambers and Jimmy Killen.


Michael Wayne Rev Vanzant

He lived at Clinchport, VA, and was a lifelong resident of Scott Co.
He was formerly employed at Williamette, and was pastor of New Melody
Church and part-time farmer. Surv by wife, 1 dau, paternal g-mother
(Opal Vanzant of Clinchport), 1 sis, 2 nieces (Kristen & Kayla Adams).
