CEDAR LAKE, Ind. - Shaina Corrin, 9, died unexpectedly Feb. 28, 2003
at Childrens Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. Born with a heart
condition, she had a heart transplant at age of three weeks and had
done remarkably well untilher last admission to the hospital.
She attended McArthur Elementary School in Cedar Lake, Ind., where she
was a third grade student. She was a member ofthe Boys/Girls Club of
America. She was a Brownie Scout and loved her balletdancing, art and
singing country music at school, where she would get standing
ovations. She was also active in church activities.
Surviving are her father and mother, Michael Hiney and Cathy Hunter,
Cedar Lake, Ind.; paternal grandparents, Robert and Marlene Hiney,
Cedar Lake, Ind.; maternal grandmother,Patricia Hunter, Cedar Lake,
Ind.; paternal great-grandparents, Virginia Darnell Sams of Norton,
Va., and the late Earl Sams; maternal great-grandparents,Russ and
Esther Owens, Buffalo, Ind.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. onMarch 4 at Burdine Funeral Home.
Pastor Marcus Smith officiated.
Burial wasin the Lowell Memorial Park Cemetery in Lowell, Ind.
