BLACKWATER, Va. - Kay Vicars, 91, died Wednesday morning (Dec. 24,
2003) at his home.
A lifelong resident of Blackwater, Va., he was a farmer and a former
employee of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.
He was a Baptist.
He was precededin death by his first wife, Chloe Gilliam Vicars; and
stepson, Carl Gilliam.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Dingus Vicars, Blackwater, Va.; lifelong
friend and cousin, J.R. Vicars, Fall Branch; and a number of cousins
in the Kingsport area.
Calling hours are from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral
Home, downtown Kingsport, with services to follow at 8 p.m. in the
funeral home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Neeley officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vicars Family
Cemetery, Blackwater, Va.
