Karen Nicole "Nikki" Westmoreland
Received BS in French and MS from ETSU. Employed at Volunteer HS,
Church Hill, TN in 1995.
KINGSPORT - Nikki Westmoreland Daugherty, 32, of 3600 Orebank Road,
Kingsport, died the morning of Friday (Oct. 8, 2004) after a long
courageous battle with cancer.
Nikki was a loving daughter, mother, sister and wife. She graduated
from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1989 and received her bachelor's
degree in French and her master's degree in Education from East
Tennessee State University. She was formerly employed at McMinn County
High School in Athens, Tenn.
She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church in
Kingsport.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, Horace A. and
Ruth Westmoreland; her maternal grandparents, Lonnie O. Williams and
Irma Faye King; and uncle, Barry Keith Westmoreland.
Surviving are her husband, Tony Daugherty, Athens, Tenn.; son, Michael
A. Daugherty Jr., Athens, Tenn.; her parents, Dennis and Barbara
Westmoreland, Kingsport; brother, Scott Taylor Westmoreland, Atlanta,
Ga.; uncle, Dr. Daniel Westmoreland and wife, Lois, Memphis; aunts,
Alice Westmoreland, Kingsport, Dr. Pat Crocker, Memphis, and Sandra
Mothershed, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; several cousins; and special friend,
Jean Hatton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at East Lawn
Memorial Park.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sundayat Mountain View
United Methodist Church with Dr. Luke Conway and The Rev. Caryl
Griffin officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the
church.
Pallbearers will be Jack Jarvis, Judge Duayne Snodgrass, Tommy
Olterman, Dr. Gustavo Hernandez, Jim Westmoreland, and Gene Mills.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Ripley, Joel Peavyhouse, Dr. Dale
Solomon, Larry Arnold, Kyle Minor, Dr. Jeff Fenyves, and Dr. Marvin
Lymberis.
