BLOUNTVILLE - Edna Ruth Byrd Cole, 68, went to be with the Lord
Wednesday morning (Nov. 15, 2000) at her residence, surrounded with
love by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
friends and family.
She was born in Scott County, Va. July 26, 1932to the late William
Collie and Bertha Bates Byrd. She was the youngest of 10children.
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Hickman Memorial Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two
brothers,Conley Byrd and Norman Byrd; and two sisters, Edith Huffman
and Polly Lane.
Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years, James Henry Cole, of the
home;a daughter, Lisa R. Elam and fiancee, Lynn Feathers; two sons,
Vance and wifeMartha Cole, and Timothy A. Cole, all of Blountville;
six grandchildren, Nikki Bailey and husband Stephen, Andy Cole and
wife Amy, Ashley Elam, Aaron, Tyler and Brandon Cole; three
great-grandchildren, Samantha and Laura Bailey, and Drew Cole, all of
Blountville; three brothers, Ray, Paul and James Byrd, all of
Kingsport; two sisters, Georgia Pierson, Fall Branch, and Rhoda Cole,
Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
Weull always hold you in our hearts and remember your strength,
courage, and devotion to us all. Mim please know weull always keep
your memory alive in each of our hearts and take care of Dad and love
each other as you loved us. We love you Mim.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at East Lawn Funeral
Home.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home
chapel with Pastor Dewey Shafferand the Rev. J.W. Depew officiating.
Music will be provided by Bill and MaryAnn Fogleman, Alvin Goins and
Mary Barker.
Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Victor Byrd, Ray Byrd Jr., Stephen Bailey, Andy
Cole, Lynn Feathers, and Gary Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler, Aaron, and Brandon Cole.
