FT. BLACKMORE, Va. - Ellen Summey Dingus, 69, entered into rest
Thursday (July 18, 2002) at her residence.
She was born Jan. 10, 1933 in Scott County, Va., to the late Worley
Wesley and Nancy Goldie Baldwin Kerns.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,Fred
Summey; two sisters, Effie Flanary and Callie Martin; and brother,
Bill Kerns.
Survivors include two sons, Roger (John Brown) and wife Margaret
Summey, Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Tommy Dingus and special friend, Lisa,
ChurchHill; sister, Ruby Gillenwater, Nickelsville, Va.;
grandchildren, Lisa and Bill Woods, Kaye and Arthur Falin, all of Gate
City, Va.; great-grandchildren,Matt Woods, Tuesdee Woods, Autumn
Falin and Peyton Falin; two special nieces,Linda Laney and Connie
Nickels; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gate City Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Gene Falin Memorial
Chapel of the funeral homewith the Rev. Albert Poole and the Rev.
Gene Jennings officiating.
Music will be provided by Toke Hensley, James "Babe" Lawson and Kelly
Chafin.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Begley
Cemetery, Ft.Blackmore, Va. The family will be meeting at the
cemetery for graveside services.
Pallbearers will be Victor Finch, Jacob Beavers, Curtis Laney, Tony
Marshall, Jackie Begley and Kevin Goins.

DUNGANNON, Va. - Dollie Summey Green, 97, went to be with the Lord at
2:10 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) at HolstonValley Medical Center.
She was born in Scott County on July 4, 1906 and was the daughter of
the late William (Bill) Summey and Ava Akers Summey. Mrs. Green was a
homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, shewas preceded in death by her sons, Roy
Edward Green, Bobby Begley, and LarryDelano Green; sisters, Maude
Perry, Ellie Summey, and Myrtle Owens; brothers,Orville Summey and
Earl Summey.
Surviving are sons, Kyle Begley and wife Doris, Dungannon, Va., and
Douglas Green and wife Delores, Hollywood, Md.; 14 grandchildren; 29
great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; special
sister-in-law, Pearlie Summie, Gray; special nieces, Eyvonne James, of
Maryland, and Edith Nelson, Kingsport; several other nieces and
nephews.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home,
Weber City, Va.,and other times at the residence of the son, Kyle
Begley.
Services will beconducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Bill Ponder and the Rev. Ralph Begley
officiating.
Music will be provided by Dorothy Hicks, Valerie Perry, and Toke
Hensley.
Burial will follow at the Carter's Cemetery on Stoney Creek.
Serving as pallbearers will be the grandsons, Ronnie Begley, James
Begley, Terry Begley, Kenny Begley, Wayne Green and DarrellGreen.
Honorary pallbearers are Ray Begley, Bobby Darnell, Chris McNew, Terry
Begley, Jerry Begley and Bill Perry.
