His name was given as Patrick Henry Lawson in Mildred Hipps' obituary,
1997.
Mildred Lawson Hipps' obituary said shehad 12 half-brothers and
half-sisters, all of Kingsport and Ft Blackmore, butdid not name
them.

FT.BLACKMORE, Va. - Annie M. Lawson, 90, went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday(Oct. 22, 2003) after a lengthly illness with her family by
her side.
She was a lifelong resident of Ft. Blackmore, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat H. Lawson Sr. in 1975;
one daughter, Bernice Dooley; two grandchildren; parents, Jack and
Emily Elizabeth Sharp Blevins; one stepdaughter; twobrothers and
three sisters.
Survivors include six sons, Roger and wife Sandy Lawson, Ronnie and
wife Peggy Lawson, Odell and wife Helen Lawson, Pat Jr.and wife
Gertrude Lawson, Paul Lawson, all of Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Fred
Lawson, Cleveland, Ohio; two stepsons, Hubert Lawson and Rhea Lawson;
five daughters, Opal Horne, Dungannon, Va., Margie Smith, Weber City,
Va., Wanda Berry, Mount Carmel, Nina Lawson, Church Hill, and Connie
Lawson, Gate City, Va.; one stepdaughter, Ruth DeFreece, Kingsport;
two sisters, Laura Melton, GateCity, Va., and Bonnie Buchanon,
Coeburn, Va.; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; special son-in-law, Herbert Horne;special
nieces, Laura Muse and Lucy Mann; several nieces and nephews; longtime
friends, Jim and Bea Cox; her friends at Dungannon Senior Citizens;
loving caregivers, Jeannie Ramsey, Sandy Lawson, Peggy Lawson, Melissa
Begley, Della Lane, Anna Lawson and Susan Adkins.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home in
Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel
withthe Rev. Gene Stallard officiating.
Music will be provided by Babe Lawson, Toke Hensley and pianist will
be Susan Adkins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Lawson
Family Cemetery in Ft. Blackmore.
The family will meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. to go in
procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tony Lawson, Hagan Lawson, Steve Smith, Randy
Dooley, David Lawson and Anthony Lawson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Lane, Worley Lane, David Mann,
Jim Cox, George Hensley, and Babe Lawson.

g-son (should be st-son)), 1910 (Dekalb #1-309, div, carpenter, with
Wiley Flanary)
Wise Co census: 1920 (Lipps #193)
They were separated in the 1910 census - he as div - but they
apparently were not div since they were clearly the ones in the Wise
Co census in 1920 with the same first two children.
They moved to Cumberland, KY for a while. He moved to Cumberland,KY
after the divorce and remarried. He took his life leaving an invalid
wife and father-in-law in Cumberland. Some said that he was depressed
because ofhaving to care for them for so long.

Assumed to be the same Willard H. Stapleton in 1900 census. Cannot
find a marriage record in Scott Co, Va. He lived at Dungannon, Va.
Apparently he and Meadie divorced and she remarried a Hicks and had
several more children. (infofrom Junior Stapleton's obituary)

Thursday (Jan. 23, 2003) at her residence.
Shewas born in Scott County, Va. on July 22, 1899 to the late James
and BrillaGilliam Dorton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
James Hobert Lane in 1998 and her twin brother, Claude Dorton, May 13,
1989; one granddaughter; one great-grandson and one
great-great-grandson;sisters, Lula Hall, Vick Hall, Laura Tate, Allie
Kern and Avie Neeley; brothers, George and Bill, Henry Dorton.
Survivors include daughter and son-law, Mable and Audley Dingus, Ft.
Blackmore, Va.; three sons, Claude Lane, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Orbin
Lane, Gate City, Va., and James Edward Lane, Kingsport; nine
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren;
several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. todayat Pendletons Chapel Church.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church with Pastor
Clifford Pierson officiating.
Music will be provided byJames McConnell and Dorothy Hicks.
Burial will follow at Pierson Family Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, Va.
Pallbearers will be Donald Lane, Larry Lane, Jerry Cowden, Scott
Wolfe, James, Eddie and Reggie Lane.

From his obit. Livedat Clinchport. Ordained as minister in 1952, and
served area churches as pastor of 32 yrs. Farmer. 5 g-ch, 5 g-g-ch
1982.
In a newspaper article about Annie, she said her father bought and
sold hides and made a living farming. Hebutchered hogs and cattle for
people. He worked for the WPA on roads and such. They would lower him
down and he drilled the holes to be packed with explosives when he
worked on a road on Copper Creek Bluff near Miles Quillen's store.

16, 2004) at Sunbridge Care Rehab-Hillside, Kingsport.
She was born in Scott County, Va., Nov. 17, 1927, to the late Wrightly
E. Gillenwater and Mary Ethel Lane Baldwin.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Robert W. Pendleton; and one sister,Mary Sloan.
Survivors include one sister, Nannie Kate Dockery, Gate City; two
brothers, Emerson Gillenwater, Nokomis, Fla., and Odell Gillenwater,
Brownsville, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City
Funeral Home.
Services will be at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of
the funeral home with the Rev. Wrightly Salling officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at AdamsCemetery,
Manville community. The family will meet at the cemetery for graveside
services.
