PORTER, Texas -- Mary Virginia Maggard, 88, of Porter died Nov. 20, 2008, at Icon Hospital in Humble, Texas. She was born June 14, 1920, in Kingston to Joseph Berton and Willa Dorsey Wright.
She was a retired salesclerk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Vernon Maggard, on May 19, 1971, and son, Billy Joe Maggard.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Maggard and wife Martha of Porter, Texas; her daughter, Mary Claudine Melburn; two brothers, James Berton Wright and Willie Creed Wright; her sister, Monta Montana Lieberenz; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Huntsville Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Oran L. Stroud and Clive Wilson; one son, Aubrey Wayne Stroud; one sister, Alta Rozell; and two brothers, Claude and Dalton Maggard.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Stroud and Audrey "Rusty" Stroud, both of Goshen; one daughter, Donna Mason of Greenland; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Goshen with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be at Goshen Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Beard?s Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville.

Kathryn Marie Wiedeman Maggard, 93, Minot, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in a Minot hospital.
Kathryn was born July 5, 1913, in Aberdeen, S.D., the daughter of Andrew and Margaret Detling. She attended school in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen High School.
On Jan. 25, 1933, she married Harold Wiedeman. They moved to Minot in 1949. She and Harold owned and operated 4th Avenue Conoco for many years. Harold died in 1966.
She married Cliff Maggard in 1977 and they moved to Rapid City, S.D. He died in 1996. Following his death she returned to Minot and in recent years she had resided at Trinity Nursing Home.
She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Kathryn enjoyed traveling and visiting her relatives and friends.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Mary Ann) Wiedeman, Phoenix, Ariz., and her daughter, Linda (John) Sorensen of Sebring, Fla., daughter-in-law, Ione Wiedeman, Minot, as well as eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and her son, Edward.
Visitation: Today, Jan. 4, 2007, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil prayer service: Today at 7 p.m. in the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
