BOLIVIA - Jerry Len Maggard Sr., 57, of Deer Trott Road, died Monday, February 2, 2004, at his residence. Born in Bolivia, NC, on April 10, 1946, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Grace Nichols Maggard. He was a Longshoreman and was a member of the Longshoreman Union Local #1838. Mr. Maggard was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.Survivors include his wife, Frances Braddock Maggard; two sons, Jerry L. Maggard Jr. and wife Carla Robertson Maggard of Bolivia, Donald Ray Maggard of Bolivia; a daughter, Grace M. Potter and husband Daniel E. Potter of Norfolk, VA; three brothers, Alfred Maggard, E.G. Maggard and Wendell Maggard, all of Bolivia; two sisters, Judy Caison of Supply, Juanita Maggard of Bolivia; and seven grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Maggard, Jerry Michael Maggard, Ashley Irene Maggard, Jessica Lynn Maggard, Jeremy Wayne Potter, Tyler Nichole Potter and Megan Potter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004, in the Supply Baptist Church with The Reverend Bill McNeill officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory, Supply Chapel.
