Services for John Taylor Moss, 67, were held April 3 at 2 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Chapel. Dr. Bill Palmiter officiated. Burial was in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Moss died March 31 at Veterans Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.
A native of Silver Point, he was a son of the late John and Katie Maggart Moss.
He was a veteran of World War II, a retired machine operator, a mason, a member of the Scottish Rites, a Shriner, a member of the Moslem Temple in Detroit and a charter member of VFW and DAV.
Surviving with his wife, Rubye Johnson Moss of Smithville; a son, David Moss of Oregon; a daughter, Judy Slawinski of Michigan; a brother, Carson T. Moss of Chattanooga; two sisters, Georgia Smith of Nashville and Jessie Redmon of Indiana; and two grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Glenn and Truett Johnson, J. B. Williams, Clyde and Herman Medley and Raleigh Talley.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
