5 Apr 2001Larry Everett Maggard, 53, of West Fork, Arkansas, died March 26, 2001 at his home. He was born October 2, 1947 at Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Everett Jesse and Orabell McChristian Maggard. He was a truck driver, a Baptist and a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart and the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Don Maggard.
Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte Cohorn Maggard of Springdale, Arkansas; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Suzette Maggard of Farmington, Arkansas, Michael and Misty Maggard of Fayetteville, John Maggard and David Loftis, both of Lowell, Arkansas; his parents, Everett and Orabell Maggard of Springdale; two grandsons, Cody Maggard of Fayetteville and Weston Maggard of Farmington; five granddaughters, Ashley Maggard and Hanna Maggard, both of Fayetteville, Bailey Maggard of Springdale, Nicele Maggard and Kendra Maggard, both of Farmington.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Venus Cemetery with the Rev. Layton Porter officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were: Jim Slavens, Chad Maggard, Ryan Linchner, Steve Hanks, Chuck Linchner, Eddie Johnson, Dean Shoffirt, John Linchner, Kevin Becholt and Rufus Herndon.
