William Riley Maggard , Riley was a Holiness preacher , he married my husband & I on Aug 11 , 1968 .
Riley and his 3rd wife Sarah lived about 1/2 from us . His first wife was Martha Ellen Vickers , I see that its wrote as Vicars below. Her father was Thomas Vickers and Mahala Tillery , Jane may of been a 2nd name , I don't know .Riley and Martha daughter name Haley E Maggard whom was born Jan 10th 1920 , she married Lester Smith at the age 15 years old on Dec 5, 1935 , Haley died in 1937 not long after childbirth > we met her son couple of years ago . His father left with thim as a baby after Haley died .
I have a picture of Riley and his first wife Martha somewhere , he was tall man , later in life he became a little on the heavy side with the kids.
Riley is buried next to Martha, about 1 mile from my house , also Haley.
Riley died from Cancer .Riley was also married (2) Mattie Marcum, they had several kids , most lived in my neighborhood off and on during the years ,
Riley and Mattie divorceRiley was then later married (3: Sarah Centers) in 1949 -no children with her
Cancer runs in my husband's family very deep . He just lost his sister Alice to lung cancer last month .
Paul had a sister Alma and Betty to die from cancer and two brother's to die from cancer , Amos and George .
Paul's father Gilbert also died from cancer .
They are recorded in the same cemetery.
There is also a baby boy named Arnold there with the year of b/d 1929

Ercel Maggard, 96, Cedar Hill Lane, Somerset, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at her residence.
She was born March 12, 1910, to the late Cora Vanover Gayhart. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Wooten, Ky. She was a graduate of the Berea Academy in Berea, Ky., and an accomplished seamstress, weaver, quilter, and cross-stitcher.
Survivors include one son, John Nelson Maggard; three daughters, Beth Maggard, Carol (and Roger) Calder, and Modeana (and James) Loveless, all of Somerset; a brother, James Gayhart, Lawrenceburg, Ky.; a sister, Marie Huggins, Hixson, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Melanie (and Tim) Diamond, Jan (and Dale) Randall, Sharon Dodson, and Jenna (and Vic) Minton; and eight great-grandchildren, Angela (and Daniel) Epperson, Michael Dodson, Ashley Diamond, Adam Diamond, Storm Minton, Skyler Minton, Ethan Randall, and Spencer Randall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Maggard, whom she married on Aug. 4, 1936 in Hazard, Ky.; her parents; a brother, Edward Gayhart; a sister, Ruth Gayhart; a grandson, Jeffery Calder; and a great-granddaughter, Heidi Randall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Sam Crawford officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset.
Visitation will be held today after 5 p.m. at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
