CLEAR SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say smoke inhalation killed a southern Missouri couple whose home exploded late Sunday.
Texas County Coroner Tom Whittaker said Monday that emergency responders found 74-year-old Doral Perkins and his wife Lois Perkins dead in their home nine miles north of Willow Springs. The couple is believed to have suffered smoke inhalation before the 11 p.m. explosion.
Whittaker said both people used oxygen and had removed all gas appliances inside the home. He said Doral Perkins was a smoker.
The state fire marshal's office is trying to determine the cause of the explosion.
