Gladys Josephine Dixon Wolford, 87, of McCarr, Ky., entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 16, 2014, from the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky. Born Nov. 21, 1926, at Lynn, she was a daughter of the late King Brady and Addie Marcum Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Fred Wolford Jr.; two sons, Tommy Dale Wolford, and infant, Donnie Keith Wolford; her twin sister, Vangelene "Poss" Cook, and two brothers, Charles Raymond and Arthur Lee Dixon. Mrs. Wolford was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God in Jesus' Name at Thacker where she was baptized on Feb. 28, 1964. Josephine was a loving mother and grandmother who touched the lives of everyone she knew. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann Wolford, Bonnie Jean (Jimmy) McClanahan, and Brenda Gale (Delmer) Akers; two sons, Danny Ray and Ronnie Lee (Gladys Pearl) Wolford, all of McCarr; her grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Wolford, Brandon Wolford, Rhonda (Shane) Yates, Tonya Wolford, Tommy (Belinda) Wolford, Lee Ann Wolford, Bradley (Andrea) Akers, Amanda Sorrell, Kimberley (David) Lee, Tony (Olivia) Akers, Lisa Moore and Christy Adams; brother, K.B. (Beatrice) Dixon of McCarr; brother-in-law, Willard Cook of McCarr; sister-in-law, Bessie Dixon of Red Jacket; three special nieces, Joann Bowers, Linda Mapes, and Judy Mapes; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Services will be conducted at noon Tues., May 20, at Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jesus' Name at Edgarton with Rev. Jody Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Buskirk Cemetery at Buskirk, Ky., with Chris Wolford, Shane Yates, Brandon Wolford, Jeff Dixon, Charles Dixon Jr., and Josh Dixon serving as pallbearers. Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the church with special services at 7 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Charles Browning speaking and with special services at 7 p.m. Monday with Rev. Charles Raymond Dixon July 29, 1937 - July 30, 2011. Charles Raymond Dixon, age 74, of Hardy, KY, departed this life on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab of Pikeville, KY. He was born July 29, 1937, in McCarr, KY, a son of the late King Brady and Addie Marcum Dixon. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by sister Addie Vangeline Cook and brother Arthur Dixon. In addition to being a loving father, brother, grandfather, friend, and neighbor, Charles was a Veteran, having served in the US Navy, he also was a retired coal miner and a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle In Jesus Name of Edgarton, WV. He leaves to honor his loving memory and mourn his passing sons Charles R. "Chuck" (Tammy) Dixon Jr. of Jonesborough, TN; Michael "Mike" Lee Dixon of Hardy, KY; Stephen Anthony (Hannah) Dixon of Johnson City, TN; daughter Pamela Renee (Bobby) Young of Blackey, KY; brother K.B. Dixon of McCarr, KY; sister Gladys Josephine "Phine" Wolford of McCarr, KY; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Honoring services will be conducted Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal Tabernacle In Jesus Name of Edarton, WV, with the Rev. Ronnie Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at the Buskirk Cemetery at Buskirk, KY. Family will serve as Pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the church.
