She was a lifelong resident of Lee County, a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Jonesville, and a member of McConnell Chapel Baptist Church in Jonesville. At the time of her death she had 42 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. No living siblings were given in the obituary.
He was the son of James P. and Bell Rutherford.
