MESSER, Lawrence Age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 9:00 PM. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on May 11, 1918 the son of Elijah and Laura (Boggs) Messer. Lawrence was a self-employed building contractor and custom builder. He was a 1937 graduate of Seven Mile High School and a member of the East River Road Baptist Church. In 1949 in Kentucky, he married Marjorie Miller. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Messer of Hamilton; one brother, Raymond L. Messer of Hamilton; two sisters, Lena (Charles) DeBord of Hamilton and Valora Jones of Seven Mile; special friend, Pete Moore of Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Samuel L. Messer in 1965; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Charlotte Messer; sister and brother-in-law Maryanne and Gilbert Sandow; and infant sister, Betty Messer. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Williford of North Dayton Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. MESSER, Robert G. Age 84 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 7:30 AM. He was born in Williamsdale on June 22, 1922 the son of Elijah and Laura (Boggs) Messer. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps 11th Airborne during World War II. He was employed at Armco Steel. Robert was a life and charter member of Chuck Cain Post #7670 VFW, a sixty-five year member of the American Legion Post #138, and a member of Salem Lutheran Church of West Alexandria. On July 16, 1949 in Hamilton, he married Charlotte R. Glins, and she preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by two brothers, Lawrence (Marge) Messer and Raymond Messer; two sisters, Lena (Charles) Debord and Valora Jones, all of Hamilton; a special great-nephew (son), Christopher S. Martin, his wife Alla, and their son Daniel of Trenton; a niece, Roberta (Tom) Stamper of Hamilton; a great-niece, Julie Collins and family of New York; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Messer and Mary Ann (Gill) Sandow; brother-in-law, Melvin Jones; and sister-in-law, Edna Messer. Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dan Snider of Salem Lutheran Church of West Alexandria officiating . Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
