Cody Mullins, 98, of McRoberts, (Letcher Co KY) died December 8 (2010) at
Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A son of the late Winfield and Laura Wright Mullins, he was the father of
the late Jimmy Mullins and Clarence Mullins, and the stepfather of the late
Nora Riddle Holmes.
He was a brother of the late Fitchugh Mullins, Tyson Mullins, Girdy Mullins,
Mack Mullins, Howard Mullins, Creed Mullins, Clearinda Mullins, and Bertha
Scott.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church of
McRoberts, and a member of the United Mine Workers of America for more than
70 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Margie Robinette and husband Donald, Bristol,
Tenn., Shirley Krull and husband Virgil, Blountville, Tenn., Betty
Hedgespeth and husband Holland, Greensburg, and Zelma Sumpter, McRoberts; a
stepdaughter, Nellie Riddle Everidge, Whitesburg; two sons, Victor Mullins
and wife Lillie, and Coda Mullins and wife Martha, all of McRoberts; a
brother, Alex Mullins and wife Jessie, Pike County; 16 grandchildren, eight
great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, four step-grand-
children, 10 great-stepgrandchildren; and four
step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 11 at McRoberts Old Regular Baptist
Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, (Letcher Co KY).
Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg, (Letcher Co KY) had charge of
arrangements.
