According to recent research I have been doing, Matilda Case was born May 1815 in Virginia. Her parents: mother: Margret ? Father: UNKN were born in North Carolina and Tennessee respectively. At the time of the 1900 Census Matilda was 85 y.o. and living with Victoria Ratliff Bartley and Charles Bartley in Caney, Pike Co., Kentucky.  According the the census Matilda bore 15 children, 7 of whom were surviving at the time of the census. She could read but she could not write.
