DONA MAE ELKINS
Dona Mae Osborne Elkins, age 92, of Jonesville, went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January, 27, 2000 at the Ridgecrest Manor at Duffield.
Born at Blackwater, she had lived most of her life in the Wallens Creek Community. She was a member of the Blackwater Lick Big Door Primitive Baptist Church but attended Davis Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burley (B.W.) Elkins; and infant son; her parents, Enoch and Kate Carty Osborne; three brothers and eight sisters.
She is survived by three sons, R.C. Elkins, Omer Elkins and Don Elkins, all of Jonesville; three daughtes, Ada Lou Fletcher and Estell Creech both of Jonesville, and Betty Willis of Kingsport, TN; 12 grandchildren, Randy Fletcher, Brenda Meade, Donna Pendergraft, Diane Salaciti, Susan Bush, Teresa Creech, Mistie Creech, Denise Elkins, Sharon Elkins, Michael Elkins, Larry Elkins and Steven Elkins; five step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 pm Saturday at the Davis Chapel Church in the Wallens Creek Community with Eldes John Henry Sybert and Walter Willis and the Rev. George Penley officiating. Burial followed in the Bledsoe Cemetery at Wallens Creek.

9537. Ada Lou Elkins
Ada Lou Elkins Fletcher, 83, of Jonesville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (October 30, 2012) at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
She was born in Jonesville, Virginia and resided most of her life in the Wallens Creek community of Lee County, Virginia. She was an active member and former Sunday School teacher at Davis Chapel Church on Wallens Creek.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all.
Ada Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Luther James Fletcher; her parents, Burley and Dona Elkins; an infant brother, Ray Elkins; and sister-in-law, Carol Elkins.
Survivors include:
Son: Randy Fletcher and wife, Sharon of Fall Branch, Tennessee
Daughter: Brenda Meade and husband, Gilmer of Gate City, Virginia
Two granddaughters: Kristie Stallard and Wendy Bernard
Four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters
Three step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter
Special daughter: Debbie Fischel
Brothers: R.C. Elkins; Omer Elkins and wife, Beverly; and Don Elkins and wife, Margaret
Sisters: Betty Willis and Estelle Creech and husband, Jerry
Several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia or anytime at the home of Jerry and Estelle Creech on Wallens Creek.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday in the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Marcum and G.W. White officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Bledsoe Cemetery in the Wallens Creek Community.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Creech, Donald Robbins, Ray Robbins, Tony Miles, Neal Miles, and Roger Elkins.
