Clara Tackett Hamilton, 64, of Langley passed away March 4, at 12:30 P.M. at our Lady of the Way Hospital at martin following a long illness.
Born January 10, 1916 in Hartley, she was the daughter of the late Mary Tackett and Leonard Tackett. she was a member of the Long Fork Regular Baptist Church for 28 years.
Survivors included her husband, Hack Hamilton: Six sons, Wade R. , Ben and Ellis all of Boise Idaho, Fred of Concord, Mich., Alvin and Edward both of Albion, Mich: Three daughters, Mrs. Molly Thompson of Spring port, Mich., Mrs. Shirley Whitehead of Albion, Mich., and Mrs. betty Lou Stevens of Langley, Ky. ; Five brothers, Arnold Tackett of Long Fork, Virgie, Merlin of Chicago, Frank of Huntington, Ind. , Joe of Caney Creek, and Eugene of Wyanadotte, Mich.: six sisters, Mrs. Nettie Bell, of Marion, Ohio, Mrs. Mary Hampton, of Marion Ohio, Mrs. Arizona Bryant, of Marion Ohio, Mrs. Tilda Halman, Marion, Ohio, Mrs. Edith Johson of Long Fork. of Virgie, and Mrs. Delcie Pack of Kermit W.va.; 28 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 7, at the Long Fork Regular Baptist Church with Ruben Baker, Monroe James, Terry Jones, Marvin Bryant, Ellis Holbrook, Paris Tackett and Cliford Bradley officiating. Burial followed in Amil Little Cemetery at Long Fork of Virgie. Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Obituary for Eugene Tackett
Eugene Tackett, 81 of Marshall Branch of Long Fork passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Eugene was born September 12, 1931 in Floyd County to the late Leonard and Mary Jayne Tackett.
He was a retired steel worker and a member of the Jehovah Witness Church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Jeanette Burke Tackett, who passed away in 2005, host of brothers and sisters.
He is survived by two sons: Willie Edward Tackett of Monroe, MI., Raymond Tackett of Pikeville, five daughters: Justine Dotson of Virgie, Doyce Jean Tackett of Little Creek, Janice Sue Tackett of Lincoln Park, MI., Dansie Ruth Carbone of River Rouge, MI., Mary Ann Hall of Virgie, twelve grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home with Heiko Griese officiating. Burial will follow in the Burke Cemetery at Marshalls Branch. Visitation will be at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday with services Friday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.

She was born October 3, 1927, in Floyd County, the daughter of the late Dewey Little and Rilla Tackett Little Hall.
She was a retired postal clerk and a member of the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gardner Newsome; one son, Gary Blake Newsome; two brothers, Tivis Little and Tavis Little; one half-brother, Franklin D. Hall; three step-brothers, Garland Hall, Gardner Hall, Merlin Hall; five step-sisters, Allie Macon, Aggie Macon, Maggie Murray, Emogene McCormick, Mellie Craven; and one grandson, Christopher Neil Newsome.
She is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Anna) Newsome of Columbia, Tenn.; a daughter, Gwendolyn (Randal) Akers of Kennesaw, Ga.; six grandchildren, Gary Nolan Newsome, Amy Rebecca Conn, Randal Aaron Akers, Meagan Brooke Akers, Jeffery Shane Newsome and Rilla Dawn McCrary; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church with Louis Ferrari and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Temporary Garden Cemetery at Wheelwright.
Visitation will be Friday at the church, with services at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hall and Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.
