She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Washington and Bessie Osborne. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She had attended Baptist Valley Assembly of God Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Smith; her second husband, Dewey Foran; children, Grady (Buddy) Smith, Gaynelle Smith Horton Lawson, and Carson Lee Smith; and three brothers; Milton Osborne, Jeff Osborne and Beverly "Beve" Osborne and six sisters; Lydia Bell Osborne, Laura Osborne, Cora V. Osborn Arnold Stilwell, Lucy V. Osborne, Chloe Osborn and Stella Mae Osborne Boyd. Those who survive are

Funeral services for Ora Foran will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Mark Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Osborne Family Cemetery, located on Osborne Mountain. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of the service on Monday.

Church, with Bobby Isaac and ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Hall Cemetery at Bevinsville.

NEWSOME, Belvey Age, 85, of Hi Hat, died Friday, February 2, 2001, at the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born July 4, 1915, in Wayland, the son of the late William Newsome and Rebecca Jones Newsome. He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and a member of the Joppa Old Regular Bapitst Church, at Melvin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Johnson Newsome. Survivors include one son, Jerry Newsome of Hi Hat; three daughters, Joan Newsome of Wayne, Michigan, Celesta Merryman of New Carlisle, Ohio, Violet Teresa McKinney of Bypro; one sister, Saria Silvey of Ligon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 6, at 11 a.m., at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, at Melvin, with Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial was in the Newman Cemetery, at Hi Hat, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin. Pallbearers were John Merryman, Chad Merryman, Joe Merryman, Shannon McKinney, Fred Fick and William Lee. Honorary pallbearers were Tammy Fick, Charlotte Pioli and Kennesa McKinney. (FCT'S)
