Obituary for Lorena Damron Tackett
Lorena Tackett, 74 of Mars Hill, North Carolina formerly of Long Fork of Virgie passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 in North Carolina. She was born August 10, 1938 in Pike County to the late William Henry Tackett and Roma Little Tackett.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband: George Damron, her second husband: Elza Tackett, thirteen brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four sons: Leslie Damron of Swepsonville, NC., Craig Damron of Charlotte, NC., Basil Damron of New Bedford, PA., Norman McPeek of Grand Junction, CO., two daughters: Katherine Bryant of Weaverville, NC., Loretta Webster of Snow Camp, NC., one sister: Martha Slone of Jonancy, Ky. seventeen grandchildren, four step grandchildren, six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rissie Branham Cemetery at Caney. Visitation will be at the Caney Creek Old Regular Baptist Church after 6:00 Pm Thursday with services nightly at 7:00 PM.

1938 - 2012Donald Ray Tackett, 74, of Lexington, formerly of Hi Hat, husband of Shirley Hall Tackett, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital, in Lexington.
Born April 10, 1938, at Teaberry, to the late William "Bill" Tackett and Hattie Hamilton Tackett.
He was a fence installer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul Tackett; two brothers, John D. Tackett and Larry Tackett; and four sisters, Lucille Kraft, Betty Sue Kiser, Norlene Hamilton and Eartha Deitz.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Scotty Tackett, of Van Lear, Jerry Tackett, of West Liberty, and Donald Tackett, of East Peoria, Ill., three daughters, Patricia Ray of Lexington, Mariann Tackett Groveland, of Ill., and Donna Pinkston Cullop of Rockford, Ill., three brothers, Ronnie Tackett of Wheelwright, Andy Tackett of Prestonsburg, and Bobby Tackett of Alabama, three sisters, Billie Faye Henson of Prestonsburg, Patty Fowler of Indiana, and Irene Bhon of California, and three grandchildren, Bethany, Hattie and Haylie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church, at Hi Hat, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery, at Teaberry.
Visitation after 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.

It's with great sadness and the help of the good Lord that we'll try to write and obituary of Anzie Osborne Newsome.
Anzie was born February 12, 1912 and she departed this life April 28, 1984 while making her stay on earth seventy-two years, three months and sixteen days.
She was the daughter of Rhonda Moore and Oliver Frasure. When Anzie was two years old Hannah and Andy Tackett took her in their home. They loved her and raised her as if she was their own child. They both preceded her in death. She had one brother, Berry Tackett who also preceded her in death.
Anzie married Bryan Osborne in 1934, into this union was born one son Bryan Osborne Jr. of Wall Lake, Michigan. Later she married Andy Newsome. Both, Bryan and Andy preceded her in death.
Anzie joined the church in 1948. She loved to be with her brothers and sisters, her family and friends. She loved for them to come and visit her.
Anzie rejoiced on Sunday before she passed away and said she was going home. She leaves here on earth to mourn her loss, one son Bryan Osborne Jr., nine step-children, four grandchildren, five great granchildren, and a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mahala and Berry's children also mourn her loss.
Anzie worked hard in this world and suffered a lot of sickness. But, we feel she has gone to Heaven where we expect to go some sweet day.Written by,
