A daughter of Silas and Inas (Cook) Tackett, of McRoberts, Kentucky and the widow of Prentice Arnold Burke. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church at McRoberts, Kentucky for 51 years.
She leaves behind her loving family of two daughters: Barbara Morgan (Jack) and Vivian Sergent (Wayne) both of McRoberts, Kentucky. One daughter-in-law: Allie Burke (Kenneth) of McRoberts, Kentucky. Two sons: Jimmy Ray (Carol) of McRoberts, Kentucky and James Arnold (Shirley) of Irvington, Kentucky. 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Ollie Sexton and Aileen Meade of Jackhorn, Kentucky. One brother: Burnette Tackett of Deane, Kentucky.
Preceeding her in death was her husband of 60 years, Prentice Arnold Burke; one son: Kenneth Roy Burke; one great-grandson: James Patrick Burke and eight brothers: Lowell Thomas; George Smith; Daniel Van; Johnnie; McKinley; Curtis; Rush and Johnce Tackett.
Visitation was Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Carty Funeral Home, in Neon, Kentucky. The funeral was held on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky. Officiating minister was Robert Waggoner. Pallbearers were the grandsons.

Truman E. Tackett, age 95 passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at his home. Truman was born on October 18, 1917 to his parents the late McKenley Tackett and Maggie Greek Tackett. He was the husband of the late June B. Tackett, a retired coal miner for Beth Elkhorn Coal Company, and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Truman is survived by three sons, Phillip M. Tackett, David T. Tackett, Keith Allen Tackett, three daughters, Linda M. Gibson, Retta Gail Potter, Marcia K. Forker, four sisters, Fronia Mullins, Marlene Hunt, Ruby Potter, Geraldine Tackett, six brothers, Clayton, Ernie, Clark, Kenneth, Roy, and Gary Tackett, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be Tuesday at Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 at 1p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Belcher and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Family Cemetery.
June Bullion Tackett, age 93, of Lick Fork Road passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on July 16, 1918, the daughter of the late Pat and Ida McClellon Bullion. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Dudley Tackett, by five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Phillip, David, and Keith Tackett, by three daughters, Linda Tackett Gibson, Retta Gail Tackett Potter, and Marsha Kay Tackett Forker, by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 28, 2012 after 6 p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Belcher, Harold Smallwood and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Tackett Family Cemetery.
Special services will be held on Monday and Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.

Steve Tackett age 47 of Little Robinson Creek Road, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Pike County on December 25, 1963 to the late Bobby and Loretta Mullins Tackett.
He was a coal miner and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; Louvilla Tackett of Little Robinson, one son; Stevin Dustin Tackett of Elkhorn, one step-son; Vernis Thornsberry of Little Robinson, four brothers; Quinn (Tommie Sue) Tackett of Indian Creek, Kenneth (Christy) Tackett of Booker Branch, Greg (Dea Music) Tackett of Indian Creek, Neil (Sabrina) Tackett of Little Robinson, his sister-in-law; Anna Hall and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Dorton Freewill Baptist Church with Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins-Tackett Cemetery at Dorton. Visitation will begin on Thursday after 6:00 P.M. at the Church with nightly services beginning at 7:00 P.M. Johns Creek D.A.V. services will be conducted at the Church.
There are 4 counties for Jamestown, Tennessee they are Fentress, Rutherford, Tipton and Williamson. Not sure which county it is.

Curt Akers, 83, of Jamestown, Tenn., formerly of Gallatin, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Newby Funeral Home with Elder Dee Russell officiating. Burial will be in Sumner Memorial Gardens. Mr. Akers was the son of the late Mack Hall Akers and Sallie Mitchell Akers. He was born in Galveston, Ky. on Sept. 13, 1919.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Akers was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Tackett Akers; daughter, Joyce Akers Clark; son, Dayton Hall; and two brothers, John Mitchell and Sie Akers.
He is survived by sons, Gary Akers of Rochester, N.Y., Richard Akers of Jamestown, Tenn., Victor Akers of Gallatin, and Craig Akers of Rochester, N.Y.; daughters, Brenda Akers Fox of Rochester, N.Y., Teresa Akers of Hendersonville, Karen Akers Mitchell of Memphis, Pam Akers Sutton of Gallatin and Nona Akers Williams of Gallatin; brothers, Kenneth Akers of Branham Creek, Ky., and Richard Akers of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters, Verdie Adams of Rochester, N.Y., Bamie Taylor of Rochester, N.Y., and Rooney Allen of Lowlville, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was born June 23, 1928, in Martin, a daughter of the late Freel Osborne and Mary Payne Osborne. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons: Terry David Bentley of Printer, and Manice D. Bentley of Martin; two daughters: Dianna Bentley of Martin, and Mary England of Price; three brothers: Dent Osborne of Canton, Michigan, Freel Osborne Jr., of Man, West Virginia, and Danny Osborne of Hazard; one sister, Ruby Skeans of Martin; 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manice, her parents; her step-mother, Susie Mae Osborne; three brothers: John Osborne; Cecil Osborne and Charles Edward Osborne; and two sisters: Vonda Keens and Alma Osborne. Funeral services for Thelma Osborne Bentley will be conducted Wednesday, October 26, at 1 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Clergymen Ted Shannon and Bobby Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, in Ivel, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home. Visitation is at the funeral home.
MANCIE BENTLEY, 63 of Garth, died last Thursday, February 20th at Our Lady of the Way Hospital following a long illness. He was born June 22, 1922 in Floyd County, KY, a son of the late Fair and Ethel Click Bentley. A retired miner he was a member of the UMAW and was an Army veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his stepmother, Maxie Bentley of Banner, his wife Thelma Osborne Bentley; two sons, Terry David Bently of Printer, Mancie Dwayne Bentley of martin, two daughters, Dianna Hale of Martin and Mary England of Price, eight brothers and eight sisters. Born November 1, 1924, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Dolly Osborne Hall. She was a homemaker and attended Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, in Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Johnson.
Survivors include two sons: Mike (Regina, Sissy) Johnson and Ronnie Johnson, both of Melvin; five daughters: Mary Crittendon of Weeksbury, Genevee (Bill) See of Melvin, Barbara Mullins of Minnie, Janet (Garrie) Caudill and Amanda Lindemuth, both of Melvin; a sister, Bernice Newsome of Huntington, Indiana; 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Fayetta Johnson of Melvin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Berlin Johnson; a brother, Howard Hall; two sisters: Pearl Fields and Opal Cantrell; two sons-in-law: Sambo Crittendon and Landis Mullins; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, at 2 p.m., at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, in Melvin, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery, in Melvin.
Visitation was Monday, September 6, after 6 p.m., at the church, with nighly services beginning at 6:30 p.m.

1949 - 2012Marvin Dingus, age 62, of Martin, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at his residence.
He was born August 13, 1949, in Martin, the son of the late Russell and Annie Osborne Dingus.
He was a retired coal miner.
Marvin is survived by a son, Shawn Dingus, of Martin, a daughter, Marcia Dingus, of Maytown, long-time companion, Marcella Hall, two brothers, Herb Dingus, of Martin, and Paul Dingus, of Columbus, Ohio, a sister, June White, of Columbus, Ohio, a niece, Deborah Chapman, of Hanover, Ohio, a nephew, Keith Dingus, of Columbus, Ohio, and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, in Martin, with Brent Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the P.M. Dingus Cemetery, in Martin.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Hall Funeral Home.
