John Calvin "J C" Potter was born December 08, 1934, in Jenkins, Letcher County, Kentucky, the eighth child and second son of John Calvin Potter and Hattie Rosemond Holcomb Potter. John Calvin "J C" Potter died April 18, 2007 and was buried in the Happy Valley Cemetery, Carter County, Tennessee. John Calvin "J C" Potter married 17 April 1954 in Elizabethton, Tennessee to Mary Spence,  Mary was born March 11, 1936 in Wayne County, West Virginia.

John and Mary moved to Lawndale North Carolina after J.C. retired. John's children, Kathy and Darrel Potter, cared for him until his death. John Calvin "J C" Potter was described by his niece as loved very much. Janet Potter Stern told us that she always saw him as tall, thin, blonde and blue-eyed and funny like most of her Potter relatives.
