POTTER, Melvin — Age 57 of Riddle, Oregon quietly passed away after a four
year bout with cancer January 29, 2007. He was born August 2, 1949 in Ashcamp,
Kentucky to parents Ben and Dorbra Potter. Melvin lived a full and exciting
life from 7 years in the Marine Corps, 4 of those years in Vietnam, to driving
long haul trucks, to working as a Foreman for Freightliner Truck Corporation
in Vancouver, Washington for the last 14 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing
with his favorite companions, his parents. He is survived by his parents, Ben
and Dorbra of Riddle; his brother, Lee Potter of LaPine, Oregon; sisters,
Audrey Castillo of Myrtle Creek, Oregon and Jean Potter of Riddle; twins sons;
William Keen Potter of Roseburg, Oregon, and Melvin Lee Potter of Salem,
Oregon, and his daughter, Ashanti Ida Dorbrajean Potter of Myrtle Creek,
Oregon. He was deeply loved and forever will be missed by everyone. A
graveside service for friends and family will be held on Friday, February 2,
2007, at 2 p.m., at The Riddle Cemetery with Pastor John P. Gustafson of The
Tri City Baptist Church officiating. Funeral Arrangements are under the
direction of Myrtle Creek Family Funeral Home.
