Obituary: Ricky Elmon Potter: Services
are held for Ricky Potter: Funeral services for Ricky Elmon Potter, 55, of
Hallie, were held April 18, 2008 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the
Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn. A son of Doris June
Creech Potter Combs of Hallie and the late Elmon Potter, he died April 15, 2008
in Georgetown. He was a brother of the late David Wayne Potter. Potter was
a coal miner in Utah, Indiana, and Kentucky. He was a U.S. Army veteran, where
he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. Surviving in addition
to his mother are a sister, Linda Susan Potter of Georgetown.

Wright, Stella Potter 58 of Jenkins, KY passed from
this life on Wednesday, July 14, 1982 at her residence. She was the daughter of
the late Roosevelt Potter and Hattie (Collier) Potter, born October 29, 1923 in
Letcher County, KY. In 1942 Stella married Roy Wright and to this union were
born five children: Shelby Jean Potter, Ocala, FL, Karen Hutchison, Jenkins, KY,
Teresa Tomlin, Lexington, KY. Cecelia DeSimone, Oklahoma City, OK. Survivors are
her husband, children and six grandchildren; three sisters: Aileen Wright,
Cherlette Elkins and Phyllis Elkins; five brothers: Elmon Potter, Enoch Potter,
Gale Potter, R.V. Potter and Jimmy Dale Potter. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Jenkins, KY. Stella possessed a loving ability to brighten the
lives of all who knew her. She had God-given talents which she shared with
everyone. She did so by her commitment to God, and the Church. Her courage and
devotion is a living testimony to her family and community who loved her dearly.
Burial in family plot in Johnson Memorial Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.

Jimmy Dale Potter age 65 passed away Saturday
1-17-2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Jimmy was born on August 3rd, 1943 to
his parents the late R.V. Potter and Laura Belcher Potter Baker. Jimmy was the
husband of Frances Hall Potter, a retired employee for Elliott Contracting, and
a member of the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist church. Along with his parents,
Jimmy was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmon, R.V., and Gail Potter, and
two sisters, Stella Wright and Aileen Wright. Along with his wife, Jimmy is
survived by one son, Jimmy Dale Potter Jr. of Dorton, Ky., one daughter, Melissa
Danielle Bentley of Greasy Creek, one brother, Enoch Potter of Falls Church,
Va., two sisters, Phyllis J. Elkins of Lisbon, Ohio, Cherlette Elkins of
Jacksonville, Fl., two grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday at 6p.m. at the Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist
Church at Beefhide, the funeral will be Tuesday 1-20-2009 at 11a.m. at the
Pilgrim Rest Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Belcher & Others officiating.
The burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery at Blaze Branch of Dorton, Ky.

born 6/23/1902, died 3/13/1937. She married R. B. Potter in 1922; they had 2
daughters and 4 sons, all living. Her parents, her husband, and 1 sister were
still living at the time of her death. "Hattie suffered with ulcers of the
stomach for about 3 years; then she underwent an operation at the Seco hospital
from which she never recovered. While in the hospital, she professed a hope in
