Obituary: William Henry Potter 6 Jan 1895 - 16 Nov 1978 Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, 22 Nov 1978
William H Potter, 83 died Thursday, November 16, 1978, in Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg. Mr. Potter was born, January 6, 1895, in Letcher County, son of Elbert (Albritton) and Mardilla Mullins Potter.
He was a resident of Paintsville, a retired C & O Railroad employee, a veteran of World War I and a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Potter, whom he married July 1, 1919, in Pike County, two daughters, Deen Bell, San Antonio, TX, and Juanita Hinkle, Paintsville, two brothers, Charley Potter, Yager, and Harless Potter, Clintwood, VA, three sisters, Rebecca Stomber and Martha Jayne Hall, Whitesburg, and Polly Ann Adkins, South Carolina; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements. Honorary pallbearers were palmar Vance, Mitchell Adams, Carroll Williamson, R. B. Harrington, Jess Songer, Jimmy Adams and Frank Johnson. Active pallbearers were Ike Hall, Dick Fitchpatrick, Larry Sword, Charles Potter, A. B. Potter, Ernest Sword, and Chuck Sword. Paintsville Herald, Paintsville, KY, Wednesday, November 22, 1978.
