Obituary of Rebecca Powers Ross, 1964 - Wayne Co. WV The Huntington Herald Dispatch - March 27, 1964 page 2. Mrs. Rebecca Powers Ross, 81 years old, of Wayne Rt. 2, died yesterday at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Spurlock Memorial Methodist Church on Wilson Creek by the Rev. Paul Mullens and the Rev. Roby Fraley and the Rev. Denvill Hamlin. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetary. Mrs. Ross was born Feb. 5, 1883 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Wade and Ida Powers. She was the widow of Taylor Ross, who died in 1952. She was a member of Mount Vernon Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Muss Ross, of Huntington; nine daughters, Miss Pearl and Miss Jarusha Ross, at home, Mrs. Hazel Cline, Mrs. Elva Workman and Mrs. Oma Sansom of Wayne, Mrs. Ruby Vaughn, Mrs. Ruth Booth, and Mrs. Shirley Crockett of Detroit, and Mrs. Mary Ashworth of Cleveland; 28 grandchildren; 15 great grand children; a brother, Wade Powers of Proctorville, Ohio and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Clonce of Kingsport Tenn., and Mrs. Dorothy Corns of Huntington. The body will be taken to the residence from the Morris- Booton Funeral Home at Wayne at 10 a.m. today and will be taken to the church one hour before the service.

Obituary of Zachary Taylor Ross, 1952 - Wayne Co. WV The Huntington Herald Dispatch - Saturday - May 3, 1952 Taylor Ross, 74 years old, of Wayne Route 2, died Thursday night at his home, will be buried in the Mount Vernon Cemetery following funeral services at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Spurlock Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. James Estep and the Rev. Henry Mullens officiating. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Rebecca Powers Ross; nine daughters, Misses Pearl and Jarusha Ross at home, Mrs. Hazel Cline, Mrs. Oma Sansom, Mrs. Elva Workman and Mrs. Mary Ashworth of Wayne, Mrs. Ruby Vaughn and Mrs. Ruth Booth of Dearborn Mich., and Mrs. Shirley Crockett of Garden City, Mich., and one son, Muss Ross of Huntington. The body has been taken to the residence from the Reger Funeral Home.
