Dunk Quillen, son of the late Persel and Angelian (Johnson) Quillen was born in Knott County, Kentucky, February 20, 1918. He entered eternal life
Sunday, April 16, 2006 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg, Kentucky, being 88 years, 1 month and 26 days of age at the time of his passing. Dunk was married to Hazel (Brown) Quillen, September, 1940. He was a member of the Neon Church of Christ in Neon, Kentucky. Dunk was a veteran of
World War II, serving in the United States Army and Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Quillen of Jackhorn, Kentucky; two sons: Donald Quillen of Whitesburg, Kentucky and J. D. Quillen of Jackhorn,
Kentucky; two daughters: Nina Faye Fisher and Dinah Gay Quillen, both of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral Service for Dunk Quillen
were conducted from the Everidge Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesburg, Kentucky on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at
1:00 o'clock p.m. Officiating Minister: Johnny King. Active Pallbearers: Family and Friends. Entombment will follow in the Green Acres Memorial Park,
Ermine, Kentucky. Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg, Kentucky in charge of funeral arrangements.
OBITUARY OF HAZEL QUILLEN
Services are set for Hazel Quillen. Funeral services for Hazel
Quillen, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday - 27 May 2009) at Everidge
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine. A daughter of
the late Frank Brown and Ellen Wright Meade, she was a member of the Neon Church
of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Nina Faye Fisher and Dinah Gay Quillen,
both of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Donald Quillen of Whitesburg and J.D.
Quillen of Jackhorn; three brothers, Paul Meade of Thornton, and Winston Meade
and Silas Meade, both of Neon; five grandchildren, and seven
great-grandchildren.
